Easiest thing to tell him, is that he's an aTm grad. Then show him pics of their yell leaders, he will get what your saying quickly.

I don’t think he has to go to a pride parade but to be baffled by such a simple situation is a bit dramatic. My patience for that is a bit thin at times.

“Because he likes to and it makes him happy. Looks kind of silly though.”

That was hard.

Why 14? Why not now? I take my sub 10 kids hunting.

There you go. You disagree, so you speak out against it. Just like the OP.

People all have different tolerances for different things.

I don't see how this warranted a thread though.

Because he is a hardheaded little SOB that is determined to learn things the hard way and there’s only one way to learn gun safety the hard way and I don’t want that. I want him to be old enough to fully grasp the importance as I teach him.

Doesn’t make sense. Is your kid even old enough to go hunting with a gun? My kids are still BB gun age and are just coming along for the hunt, maybe with the BB gun depending on the hunt.

shite, you start with the BB gun, a nonlethal gun, to teach. If they frick up you take it away...it’s an easy effective way to teach, safely early on.

Be very careful going to nola in August. There are men running around in red dresses. Also avoid Scotland. Kilts are skirts you know. You may also have trouble explaining women in battle fatigues so avoid the military.

I never really get threads like this. I don't understand the concern that if your kid is attracted to women, he'll decide to go with dudes instead because of something he saw on TV at 4 years old.

I was raised to think being gay is ok and not abnormal. I have also never hunted. I've only been attracted to women, and have never second guessed that. Attraction to people is natural and isn't changing based on something on tv.

I saw some of that New Year's Eve crap. The stage was pretty thick with homosexuals, drag queens, and just generally effeminate men.

I don't have a problem with any of that, but when it's a disproportionate part of your New Year's coverage the message you're sending is, "this is the ideal." And I don't think that's the message we need, at least not here and now.

He also needs Penthouse and Hustler magazines. Reading is fundamental.

How was it pushed? A guy is wearing a dress and he happens to be in the crowd. Do you really think the guy in the dress that day thought to himself "I hope some 4 year old boy sees me in the dress so I can imprint wearing a dress on him"

Do you think tv executives are plotting this to get your kid to choose values that are contrary to yours?

Without passing judgment on right-wing politics or traditional gender roles, it is safe to say that about 45% of the country sees these as good things, and next to nobody on stage last night did.

I do not think it is sinful to engage in gay sex or dress up like the opposite sex, but the New Year's Eve programming does seem profoundly out-of-touch to me, and not at all uplifting.
