awful. that poor little girl has already bonded with the OP and isn't going to understand why he's suddenly disappearing from her life.
frick that whore.

I understand the pain you are going through right now. I've been cheated on. It sucks.
But dude...
This chick was knocked up when you met her. She manipulated you into caring about her kid that isn't yours so much that you put your name on the BC (legally, you're fricked in that regard depending on the age of the kid).
And then she proceeded to frick someone else (to be honest, more than one person is likely) once she had your financial and emotional support.
Get this chick out of your life, now.
Hire a lawyer. Contest paternity. Get this chick totally out of your life. I hate to say it, but that includes the daughter that isn't yours.
You WILL regret it when she slams you with a child support request. WHICH SHE WILL. DO NOT BUY HER bullshite THAT SHE WON'T. SHE WILL.
Focus on your son.

The kid is only a toddler, so she won't even remember you. This isn't really any different than a guy who starts dating a single mom and things end up not working out for whatever reason. Yeah, you might've developed an attachment to her kid. But if things don't work out between you and the kid's mom, you don't continue raising and financially supporting her kid.
I'm guessing you've never been a dad. That's cold and OP could not live with himself doing that.

Is his name on the lids birth cert? If not, pack your shite and go. You will save yourself much more heartache and grief later. Any other advice on that is bullshite.

the daughter is not biologically his but he had been there since prenatal.
Which makes it not his daughter.
If I am dating a girl for a couple years and I really form a bond with her dad, does that make me his son?
Some of y’all convolute language too much.
Loving a child and being part of their life doesn’t make them your child, in the eyes of the law or biology.

you think its normal for a grown woman with a child to routinely go sleep over at a "friends" house without the child??
I never saw it say there was sleepovers.
But just going to hang out? Yeah.
I go hang out at my friends houses. So does my wife. Sometimes we bring the kid sometimes the other one watches him.

And as I'm sure others have mentioned, if your name is on the BC, you are presumed to be the father in Louisiana.
You only have a select amount of years to contest the paternity. Once those time limits pass, you are fricked.
The child is yours even if you get a test proving it isn't. You are stuck with a child support bill for a child that isn't yours.
Get a lawyer. Prove paternity. You can still be the child's father, just not its legal father.

They've done that before. They have the ability to do it.

So why did the daughters father split? Has it been proven that it is indeed his baby?
Regardless, you need to cut ties ASAP. In a few years you'll be grateful to yourself for that decision.
I'd take my son and hit some vacation spots. And leave it all behind. There won't be a happy ending if you carry on, that can be counted on.

Well he’s gonna have to.
Because he is a dad. To HIS son. And he needs to make HIS son number one, and himself number 2.
His family unit isn’t going to break, but all it will take is the mom getting mad, or the dad wanting back in the picture, and all of a sudden the pain he was trying to avoid is gonna be tenfold, not to mention the financial strain.
Being a father means making hard decisions, decisions you might not like, decisions that hurt.
But you do them because your children deserve it.

OP has to not allow her to use daughter as a pawn to manipulate her way and him allow her to use that influence over him.

Fr33, you must admit that you don't come into this type of thread without some of your own personal baggage and hurt. I understand your view on things to a certain extent. But you've got to also understand that there is a legal definition of things and there's an emotional definition of things. You're telling me that if someone raised a child albeit not through legal adoption for a few years they are not in a father-son or father daughter relationship? We all understand that it is not his biological daughter. He has formed a profound emotional attachment to the girl. Surely you can understand that.
Candidly, you seem hung up on your Viewpoint due to the Past things you've had happened to you.
I have no idea about the legal ramifications of putting his name on the birth certificate. If it came down to it and a blood test revealed it was not his then I don't see how the courts could possibly conceive of putting him on the hook.
Idk though.

Yep. Just because the girl isn't his biologically his doesn't mean he doesn't love her.

Say he does want to stay involved with the daughter, what is the best way to proceed and what would be the likely outcome? We have all agreed the ho has to go.
