let that motivate you. Just think another man is going to be on top of your wife because you couldn’t stop drinking. If you have kids, they are going to be the “ dad” because you couldn’t give up the bottle

Been there. Your marriage is more important than you running away from life by getting hammered. Do some acid, mushrooms, or ecstasy. You will be fixed after that. You could try church as well. After you stop drinking for long enough you will be amazed by the clarity of your mind.

I hear ya, I’ve spent some hours in Laffy, Iberia, St Mary and 12 hours in Orleans. Never been sentenced, mostly just holding cells.

OPP was the most fun. We had weed and X to pass the time

08 is jealous of my resilience.

Rag would roll over in his grave if he knew an unfortunate looking fraud like b808 would try to fill his shoes.

He knows I’d work him and his bitch arse fingerbanging boyfriend at the same time. I’d fricking mop the floor with both their bitch asses at the same time

He needs to take his arse back down the bayou where he belongs

Almost? Sounds like you’ve been there.
Go to an AA meeting tomorrow. Get a sponsor at that meeting. Don’t drink just for tomorrow. See how it goes.

Fear and consequences do not motivate an alcoholic. They just rationalize and justify their drinking more. The fact that a spouse tells someone they are going to leave them if they don’t evokes one of two responses. A problem drinker stops drinking. “What’s the big deal, I’ll stop. It’s not worth losing my family.” The alcoholic continues to drink in spite of those consequences. “She doesn’t understand. I am only hurting myself. It’s not a problem. Others drink this much or more. I still have a job and pay my bills.” All rationalizing and justifying their drinking. What’s worse is the progressive nature of alcoholism. The alcoholism is growing and the amount to drink to produce the same result continues to increase and the desired effect actually decreases. It eventually results in a state of hopelessness. The person then decides whether they are just going to go on to the bitter end or whether they will do something about it.

I need some of yalls experiences with excessive drinking/alcoholism.

I was a wino in my early 20s. Id drink 2 separate 1.5L bottles of Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon a day. Then I graduated to whiskey and then by the time I was 28 i was done drinking.

Now ill occasionally get on some beer and act like a shithead to others on here. I was never a happy drunk.

Since the beginning of the Covid shutdowns, I started drinking much more frequently.

I was pretty bad during the first couple months of the shutdown when we kept thinking it was just going to be "2 more weeks."

Taking a good long look at the scale after 2 months of drinking too much put a stop to that.

ETA: Also wasn't working out or exercising as much, getting down in the slump. Working out again was a good kick in the arse to wake up.

Find a different drug. Just about anything other than heroin and krokodil will be an improvement over alcohol in every way.
