What kind of boarding place is it? Is she in the kennel all day long, except when they take her out twice a day to shite and eat? If so, try a different place that lets her play/exercise all day with the other dogs there. It will be a little more expensive, but she'll be more comfortable and less anxious.

she was at a place with dedicated runs.Had access to outside pretty much all day except for night.Cost me $60 a day to board her.
She stayed laying in her kennel and wouldn't budge.

No friends to take care of the dog while you're on vacation?

have someone dogsit/housesit while you're on vacation, 2 birds with 1 stone

plan vacations where you can bring your dog

drop dog at friend, relative's place, etc.

we leave town all the time and never have had to board our dog

I feel the same way when a girl asks me if we are in a relationship.

but really, try bringing her to doggie play camp in BR. she won't stay in a kennel all day while you're gone and will be around a bunch of other dogs. it might cost a little more, but it might perk her up too.

...as an alternative to kenneling the whole time, if you don't have a friend or relative to leave her with.

she's very anti social and does not like any other dogs. She loves us and that's it.Any other people or dogs and she either cowers in a corner or lashes out.
We've attempted to interact her with other dogs but she don't want to have anything to do with any of them.

Find a different place that has a daycare deal in addition to boarding. The runs suck - doesn't let the dogs socialize, just makes them confined and anxious. That's way too much money to pay for a run. I've taken mine to two different places in Houston, both with daycare, and they are $22 or $24 a day. I'm sure you can find better in the BR area.

Well then this is your first problem to address. Our second rescue was like this at first. It took about 5 trips to a doggie daycare place (once a week) to get her used to other dogs and to socialize. When she finally came around, it was amazing how much more confident she was.

I'm not saying something like that will be as easy for you. But I'm going to guess that there's a root cause for the over-submissive behavior and being anti-social. And it's probably the same cause as the not eating while boarded.

If you really want your dog to live a happy life, find a trainer that can help you get her our of being over-submissive and anxious.

yeah,we spoil her a bit I guess and never thought it would lead to her being only into us.
It's caused problems for us when we want to leave for pretty much anything.
She wants to go everywhere with me and is deeply depressed when she can't.

I have two labs. One is spoiled bigger than shite thanks to my wife. He gets depressed when we leave him for a few days. He loves to eat so we don't have that issue. We either drop them off at my parents house or someone comes to ours and feeds them.

Yeah then I'd suggest finding the root instead of just the symptom. Problem is trainers aren't cheap.

I would find a doggie day care place that does boarding and bring the dog there. But don't wait till you go out of town. Get in the habit of bringing the dog there from time to time to get it socialized. Then when you go out of town it will be something the dog is familiar with already.

Let's review:

-dog won't eat for days when kenneled

-you won't let someone dog sit at your home

-you won't take the dog with you on vacation

Thanks for playing! Jimmy, tell him what he's won!

Have had a sitter several times and it worked out. Can't always make that happen though unfortunately.

Try using a calming collar on your dog.

Juice, we did this and our lab comes back with a couple of bite holes in it's neck, but did get out each day to swim, run, and play with others - and get bitten. LOL.
