Question: Eight months ago, it was brought to HR’s attention that a member of the management team might be having an affair with a newly hired, younger subordinate. The office is seeing this employee enjoy favoritism while those who have spoken up about the potential affair face retaliation – including being spied on with an office camera. Our branch manager has tried to act but always backs down because of intimidation from the member of management in question. This is a frustrating and toxic situation for my company and it’s causing a lot of stress and unhappiness for everyone. HR continually tells us that things will change, but nothing has happened. Any idea why they are not addressing this situation?

And I don't believe this number. It seems awfully high. Certainly 33 % of the people who are employed can't be dipping their pen in the company's ink?

The stat says "have had one". I don't think it's that surprising, since it would include all jobs.

Perhaps I am naive, but I guess it helps that I work with unattractive people, except for this one guy, Aaron. He calls himself "Double AA." I find him polarizing.

Had a similar situation at my previous employer and was one of the reasons I quit.

Yea, it seems like gender imbalance in various workplaces would make this difficult. Im also suspicious. I might believe like 20%, maybe. Depends on how they define romance I guess.

You really think that's a high number? People working together for the majority of the day and then going out sometimes for drinks and shite. I've worked at places where it seemed like every female there was fricking some dude there. Lots of workplaces are IRL Tinder.

Hell, my parents met at work

I think it could potentially cause issues especially if it develops into a long-term commitment, i.e. marriage. Financially, it might not make sense for two people to put all their eggs in one basket with one employer.

I was never polled for this. Information is inaccurate.

The only lady at my workplace won't let me bang her. Been trying for days. This work from home thing is not all that it's cracked up to be.

No, certainly not.

To clarify, I don't think it is a great idea if a couple works at the same employer. Why? If one relationship with the employer goes south, it could potentially impact the other person and the perception the employer has on that person, right or wrong.
