Get you some cardboard replacement disks and paint them purple with LSU lettered in yellow. Duck tape them in place.

We had to replace every hood ornament on new Cadillacs we had in stock back in the late 80s as the HS kids would rip them off.
Wasn't a one time thing. Would keep the replacements in the parts department and put them on when the car sold.

I had the same except the wheels and was a light lemon yellow. I replaced hubcaps with Buick short wire locking hubcaps. Car was not just fast (I hit 140 on the Indian Nations Turnpike a few times) but it would also off-road as good or better than most of the small pickups back then.
