My brother-in-law is talking about selling his house and getting a tiny house

He works in the oil field and he thinks he is about to get laid off. He is seriously thinking about selling his house and getting a tiny house around 250sq ft - 350sq ft for him and his wife. He said with how everything is going, he doesn’t want to stress about money and not being able to pay their bills. I like the idea of going smaller and saving more money but I can’t go tiny the way he is talking about. The smallest house I can live in is probably 800sq ft with a kid. When my wife and I got married, we lived in a 590sq ft apartment and it was not bad except the one bathroom part.

who does he think will buy his current house?

I think a lot of people are fixing to be downsizing one way or another

If it's just him and his wife and they like to spend time outdoors it doesn't seem so bad. If they are couch potatoes and/or have kids that seems like a nightmare.

Selling his house to who? Is he aware of what’s going on outside of the oilfield?

Downsize, sure. 350sq ft? Lol

He might as well just live in his F250

He said his goal is to get something tiny where he can be mortgage free instead of paying a mortgage on a $150,000 home by himself.

150k is a very small mortgage, even on an FHA loan. I guess he has other expenses.

I had a coworker that just moved from a tiny house into a regular house. I wonder if he is regretting that decision?

Why doesn’t he just buy a 10-15k trailer and have more room?

He should make the whore get a job instead of moving into a fricking hut

He's an oil field baw. 350 sq feet somehow seems like fate

Only thing I can think of if he watches those tiny house shows on hgtv. I wouldn’t be surprise if it was his wife’s idea.

Yeah it’s a dumb idea. Those things are way more expensive than they should be.

I told him to get a trailer to have more room then living in a space the size of a closet.

Buy a trailer and put it on land that he owns. Build a big garage and a big screened in area.

If you're going to live in a tiny shite house, it might as well have wheels so you can set up in walmart parking lots all over the country.
