How much do you make & how much does she make? As others have said, Louisiana has a formula for child support. It’s straightforward. Having a legal custody implementation plan set up is for the best. It protects you both. Especially if she starts getting spiteful.

You don’t need to pay a damn lawyer for child support thru the court. It’s a formula based on income of the custodial and non-custodial parents. Now... if she wants to get stupid with custody hire a lawyer. My son’s mother did the same thing to me but it was only because her SNAP benefits ran out after he turned 2. Thankfully we were always friendly and professional with custody arrangements.
