My son prefers physical comedy. I think next time I'll deck the nurse. It will be hysterical and it will seem like I saved him from her at the same time.

You will hardly remember this in a few years. So easy to get caught up in the moment with kids. There are a ton of things that are going to amaze you and then simply be forgotten and that's before she will turn 6. Take a deep breath and enjoy the ride. Take pictures and write things down.

Ask for a script for Emla cream next time ... you put that on, cover it with the patches that come with it (at least 17 years ago it did) and she won't flinch. The pediatrician gave us the script with the option to do it ... the shot giving nurse said "I think it ought to be mandatory!" as she and I were BOTH so happy there was no crying or anything.
Actually got a script for my 3rd child as well.

I cried like a baby. The second time wasn't so bad. All others were no big deal. Second kid also wasn't that big a deal, but when he got circumcised I felt really bad and may have cried a bit.

Not easier as they age either. My 4 y/o had his today, and I had to hold his arms so he wouldn't try to grab the needles. Poor thing is freaking out and you can't do anything. They remember longer as they age though. Five hours later he was still walking around limping like an old man.
