My Advice to Nurses...From a Teacher

First off, I appreciate your concern, but we are hardened to a point that even Moh wouldn't understand. While you only have to deal with an ornery doctor and an occasional persistent pill popper, we have to deal with their, and your, offspring. And, all of you suck at raising kids.
Do you know how hard it is to stop thirty 6 year olds from eating a goldfish until you finish passing them all out?
Do you know the kind of stress involved when you have to make sure 30 bad arse kids aren't eating crayons, trying to hang the booger eater with shoelaces, or trying to climb the fence to get to the soda machine before nap time?
Not to mention having to deal with the passes made by your whore daughters. Do you have any idea what it's like to have to be around that many 16, 17, and 18 year old girls? Have you been to a no uniform hs on pep rally day?
So, don't talk down to us like we are idiots. You're a nurse, and you wouldn't understand the hell that educators go through to raise your children. If you really want to help, raise your kids better so I don't have to.
Have fun eating your catered, Italian food, or whatever free, 5-star dinner you get from the drug reps tonight.

Wow, I don’t feel bad for what’s about to happen to you at all

I love a good Teacher vs Nurse fight.

What teacher deals with 6 year olds and 18 year olds?

Thank you for taking the time to type this up. But shut up for real.

If you didn’t want to be a babysitter, you shouldn’t have chosen babysitting as your profession.

Are you worried about contracting the kung flu when you frick a student?

Complaining about the inherent challenges of a job YOU chose and comparing it to a totally unrelated field is pathetic.
Sounds like you're jealous they've gotten more attention and the only publicity your field gets is when some teenage boy gets to live out his fantasy with the new History teacher.

Both groups have acted disgraceful during this trying to stand on a soapbox and preach down to others.

A lot of people who comment about public school and teachers think most of those kids come from loving, hard working 2 parent households with wonderful extended families. That’s not the case at all.
If over 81% of EBR students receive free/reduced lunch, what kind of home lives do you think they have? Do you think they have stay at home moms who are going to sit down with all 3-4 kids on laptops they bought and teach them?

Most of these people would not understand those rewards, because they've never done something so important to society as a whole.
However, it would be nice to get a little recognition sometimes. We have nurses and fast food workers getting extra, frontline stipends from the state, and I haven't received a raise in almost 18 months, while being on society's frontline to a functioning adult.

No work, no pay.
Just like everyone else.
Science is NOT on your side.
Go flip burgers or work at a convenience store. Then you’ll find out. They are doing real work while you whine.
Quit. Stop crying.

If you are truly an educator, these statements are problematic. You are saying that you are having a hard time maintaining your professional boundaries. Get help!
