Come to find Kenmore appliances are made by LG and are basically just a $1,600 pile of crap.

I laughed at the guy when he said it would be ~$900, so what are y'alls suggestions on a good quality refrigerator?

I'd like to purchase one that's not going to go out in 2yrs.

Welcome to the modern appliance industry. You will replae all your shite every few years. The days of a 40 year old hot water heater or fridge are over.

I didn't know you could buy something to heat your hot water

I won't buy anything with a bunch of fancy bells and whistles. I want youtube videos to be able to help me.

My 16 month old Kenmore Elite went out on Jan 11th.

We had the 5 year protection plan.

They came out to repair in 9 different times.

Finally got a new one delivered on Oct 12th.

Mine is made by LG too. Beautiful fridge. But the parts are garbage.

We’re they recently purchased by LG? Because literally yesterday my parents told me they were cleaning their freezer and mentioned they’re surprised it’s still working like a champ after 20 years. It’s a Kenmore.

And it’s a freezer they keep in the garage, so it’s subject to hot Houston summers and cold temps in the winter. I would assume that might wear the parts out faster, but it’s still going strong.

They weren’t purchased by LG.

More like contracted to make Kenmores.

No shite - I bought a (Kenmore, believe it or not)fridge in 1998 that is still in service with a (now adult) child.

We bought a Maytag washer in 1993 and got 23 years - approximately 8,500 loads of clothes out of it.

It will take 3 of each to replace those, it looks like.

There is NONE. First one we got 40 years ago lasted 27 years. We are on the second one in the last 13 years. WTF?
