It’s covered under protection plan.

Yeah I just found that out.

And to answer your earlier question, no it's not the Elite series.

We lost everything in the flood and has to replace all appliances in our new house. Pisses me off something new totally shits the bed.

Kenmore is just a Sears store brand. They go out to bid every so often. They do the same thing with their lawn equipment. I was debating between a Husq mower and the store brand and the sales guy at the time, probably 10-12 years ago, said they were all made by Husq. Probably some cheaper parts but the small engine was the same.

Yea. I was very disappointed to find out what I thought was a superior brand had been farmed out to LG. And that they were having so many issues.

Even though we didn’t have a working refrigerator for 3 months in the kitchen, we were lucky enough to have one in the garage and another one in the cabana.

Sad thing is, we will probably have to get the new one replaced before the protection plan expires. —- if Sears honors the plan while they’re in bankruptcy.

I’ll never buy anything from Sears again. The protection plan is a bigger joke than the crappy LG made refrigerator.

I had one go out after 4 1/2 years. Kenmore elite that was originally priced at 2700. Sat on the floor for over a year and was marked down to 1500. Thought I stole it, nope. I wasn't a happy camper. Now have a cheap arse whirlpool from Slowes.

I suggest you learn how to use YouTube and some tools.

Appliances are shitty these days. Most can be fixed pretty cheap.

If you paid for it with a credit card. Your credit card may have coverage that will extend the manufacturer warranty up to 1 year.

Come to find Kenmore appliances are made by LG

Faulty generalization but true of the top end Kenmore Elite fridge that I had (and many of their refrigerators). Mine lasted several years but when it crapped out, nobody works on them and the ones that do pretty much tell you it ain't worth the cost to fix it.

My grandparents where Sears people through and through. Nothing but Kenmore and Craftsman stuff all throughout the house for years and years and years...

Now I know what they mean when they say
they don't make them like they used to...

People here hate Samsung, but I’ve never had the first problem with mine.

Do it, now. Change it. You know it's the right thing to do.

I loved Samsung refrigerators until my last one had the ice machine go out after a year and the replacement was damn near the cost of a new fridge. Plus, it was a known issue. Screw that.

Whirlpool Gold

Bought it 14 years ago, main board went out in first 12 months. Not another problem since.

We have a Whirlpool fridge in the garage that is well over 40 years old and still runs like a champ.

My 28 month old Kenmore Elite fridge is running like the day we bought it.

No one is 100%.
