What is the benefit to US citizens of going billions upon billions of dollars more into debt for a manned Mars mission?
Take a look at what NASA is paying SpaceX without a Mars mission and then consider how large the handouts to SpaceX would be with a Mars mission.
The man has received over $38B from government over the years, including over $6B last year alone. He's rich because of our tax payer dollars which helped fund his real talent of finding smart people to do cool things while he takes the credit. DOGE and his $250M payment to Trump were a way of sucking more out of us. Now Mars?

Wow, I'm embarrassed for you. You're having to flex by riding another man's dick and using another man's wealth as some sort of perceived win. That's not even addressing the fact your reading comprehension sucks.
Now I know what it feels like to be your parents.
LMAO. Typical desperate last resort of the lame and intellectually challenged:

Thanks. I needed a good laugh this afternoon.

Doesn’t he have 14 kids with multiple women that he clearly doesn’t have enough time to raise? I don’t get the obsession with him.

If you think a socially retarded illegal immigrant like Musk is on point on anything, then i must pray for you.
He thinks we're living in a computer simulation... you people are being played like a fiddle

quote:Reading through history, I don't think aiming for greatness has ever been a central characteristic of the human psyche. The vast majority of innovation has always been due to a vast minority of people. 99.999% of people alive in 1969 played zero role in the technical work that made it possible.
Shows you what a lazy society we have become. Not only are most lazy in action and do not aim for greatness, they are lazy in mind and spirit and deny the greatness that was achieved by those that came before them.
And is going to the moon the sole bellwether with which to measure a society? We've experienced countless innovations since the 1960's in the fields of science and medicine, many of which have been more impactful to our health and every day life than the Apollo program.
I'm not downplaying the importance of our moon missions, or disagreeing that people are, on average, lazier than many who came before us, but, I disagree with the premise that our lack of will to return in the decades since, casts aspersions on our collective worth as a people. The 00.1% of people that would have been doing that work back then have simply been doing other things in the decades since.

The expected response as usual. They bash Trump all day but yet they didn’t vote for Biden or Hillary.

I don't know what point he's trying to make. Want to prioritize the USA getting to Mars? He should use his propaganda machine to spread information that China is aiming to be the first country to land a human there.

If he wants to go to mars no one is stopping him. I don’t see the point in putting man on an uninhabitable planet when we can out the money, effort and resources to keeping the planet we’re on better.
But we are a use it up and throw it away human race so there’s no surprise there.;

on this we agree upon. If Musks wants to fund it, I’m pumped and can’t wait. If the taxpayers are to fund it, I’m out. frick that.

a bit dramatic and emotional for my taste.

Dumb wording on my part. I get the point of the content he is reposting, but it’s obvious why we haven’t sent people to Mars yet. It just seems like dumb engagement bait that I am also chiming in on for no reason.
