So based on the graphic, 98% of these homicides occurred between I-10 and Baker.

This is the area that the SPLC says is "overpoliced", obviously if the police leave the area criminals will quit committing crime.

People don't realize how 1-2 people being arrested or killed can have a 15-20% swing in the short term murder rate. Not only a reduction in who they would have killed, but in the retaliation killings that would have followed because of who the targets were.

Those in law enforcement see it all the time in New Orleans, it's just not reported upon.
