Aren't they taking the entire vehicle? Am I missing something? What good will a gun safe do?

They stole some vehicles, but they broke into more vehicles than they stole.

Maddening, but who in their right mind parks their truck and leaves their gun inside? How clueless can these people be?

Yeah, it’s the victim’s fault that some, for lack of the ability to post a better word, thugs stole their truck and all their belongings in it.

Guy arrested today is the same guy Previously arrested for dozens of car break ins downtown. He won’t have to post very much bale, if any; won’t have serious charges pressed; may or may not be convicted at a trial in a few years; won’t get sentenced to much time; and will serve even less of sentenced.

DA refused charges last time

He was arrested in 2020 for armed robbery and having an illegal gun as a juvenile. I bet you can guess the outcome of that one too.

What you should ask is "What can we New Orleanians do to make the city safer so people don't have to worry about someone breaking into their cars?".
Do you retards expect Charles Bronson to walk through that door?

You are right. But it’s over. It can’t change. Residents if the city let it go too far. There’s no coming back.

Latoya attended his sentencing hearing and sat next to him for support, and told him she was proud of him?

But I didn't know anyone involved. No big deal.

Saw the guy who killed Boogie Man (comedian) outside Rouses on Christmas was apprehended in Houston.

Had me wondering was he from NOLA and fled to Houston, from Houston and came to NOLA from some bullshite, or from NOLA, went to Houston, back to NOLA and then knew people in Houston.

Never said where he resided.

He apparently lives near me. Good local boy who was just misunderstood. Out on bail for a car break-in - NOPD actually matched prints. I'm surprised his bail was as high as it was ($7,500). But paid his 10% and out to slay folks at Rouses with quickness. Got gas there today around 2pm (head on swivel as always).

WWL TV

Cowart’s previous known run-in with the law, obtained by WWL-TV through court records, was far more pedestrian. However, it marked a rare instance in which an alleged car burglar was booked after being identified through fingerprints, the court records show. The car break-in took place at a gas station in the 4600 block of Gen. De Gaulle Drive, not far from Cowart's last known address in Algiers. In an arrest warrant affidavit, detectives say they were able to lift fingerprints in the June 2 burglary from a broken window glass, in addition to the driver’s side door and door handle. “The latent print…was identified as the left palm matched to Jabril Cowart,” according to the affidavit by Detective Latoya Johnson. Cowart was arrested on November 17 in another part of Algiers.

He was released from the Orleans Justice Center after posting bond to cover his $7,500 bail.

Who tf said that?

When I posted about my truck being broke in to, the whole first page was victim blaming, people saying the story was made up, just pure assholery from this community. There were some who emphasized with me and I appreciate that, but it seems like the vast majority just make excuses and blame me for driving a "trashy truck." We live out of state and wanted to come spend money and have a good time as the Pels game. The break in, the no return calls to NOPD, the feeling of violation from it and most of all, the response from the locals, right on this board, make me say screw the city that I love and never want to come back. Could I have been more responsible and had a gun safe in my truck? Sure, but I didn't have one, so I did what I thought I could and separated the magazine from the gun and locked them in separate locations of the truck. Many of you called me names and poked fun at the situation, I pray that this never happens to any of you regardless of how you feel about me.
Something has to be done before the city finds itself with no professional teams, no money coming in from tourism and no way back. I'm a Saints fan for life who loves attending games, we go to the wwII museum often, the zoo, the aquarium, countless other times just to get out of Mississippi for a day and make the 2 1/2 hour drive to NOLA. We purchased my wife's car at Bergeron just recently.
All that being said, I have zero plans to return to the city any time soon, if ever, due to what recently happened to me.

Everyone said you were a dick for leaving your gun unsecured in a glass box in the murder capital of the world.

I expect the retarded citizens of New Orleans to demand more from their elected officials...or more from themselves by electing people to fix shite.

Perhaps you missed the point of my post. Is it clear now?

Huh, makes more sense he was a NOLA product.

Saw the groups that brought him in. So many more questions, but shows NOPD has the ability with the right motivation.
