Sure she would. You can always turn left against an oncoming green as long as you yield the right of way.

This is a double left turn lane. It’s only a protected left turn. The lights are solid not flashing. They wouldn’t be solid yellow with greens going the opposite way in this situation. Please tell me an instance where that could ever be the case.

I didn’t say that was the case here. I was correcting the person who said oncoming traffic wouldn’t have a green light if you have flashing yellow arrows — AS A GENERAL RULE.

The driver of the car here looks to have turned left at a red light.

They’re not yellow. A solid yellow light would only last a couple seconds before turning red. The turning lane lights never change color in the almost 30 second long video.

How about someone just drive out there tonight at 9 PM and see what the cycle does?

You are correct and I'll add that the yellow blinking turn lights are NEVER at a double turn lane intersection.

The speed of the motorcycle absolutely caused the accident. This whole argument is imbecilic.

If that dude was going even just 2x the speed limit both drivers would have had more time to react and make decision. Driving that fast on a motorcycle at night is the equivalent of driving with your lights off. Nobody can see you or process what you are doing.

If I'm driving my vehicle at the proper speed (in place of the motorcycle) and this exact scenario happens, I'm lightly hitting the brakes, honking my horn, maybe even flipping her off as I'm passing. What I'm not doing is bursting into a ball of flames because my dumbass was going 100+ mph in a vehicle that can't stop.

Even on a motorcycle, if he's going the speed limit, absolute worst case he's laying it down and nursing some rashes and a scratched up bike. But in reality, if he's going the speed limit, he's nowhere near that intersection by the time the light runner clears it.

And there it is, you have a bias.

Does it even matter if she caused the wreck?

The speed limit surely is partly in place to keep the inevitable accidents from killing everyone involved, no?

If you trip and bump into someone who is wearing a suicide vest and it goes off, killing you both, was it your fault for tripping?

Tripping is not against the law … running a red light is … I’m not taking sides but your argument here doesn’t apply

So is traffic light laws

I’m sure we can find some places where tripping would be illegal somehow.

Do we 100% know she ran a red light?

No doubt.

I still put nearly 90% of the blame on the motorcycle rider. If he’s going 3x the speed limit I put 100% of their deaths on him.

Well where are the lights for the traffic that's not turning?

Not really. They are disowned. I never said we were close.

He was heading northbound on Nicholson. There isn't much curve there as there is for the left turn she was attempting.

Edited to add: There is more of a curve if you are heading south on Nicholson.

Look at a map.
