My work is moving to a new space, which is currently under renovation and won't be ready until late April. The lease on our current space ends at the end of this month, and the contract says that every month we stay over is double the normal rent price.

So, as a result, we'll be working out of a WeWork space for a couple months. Anyone ever worked out of one of these? What am I walking into here? It's only a couple months, so not a big deal, I'm just curious what these setups are like and how much of a PITA they are.

Wrong. I didn't take the OTs sage advice. I never learned to code.

I've heard good things about some of the wework spaces in the Bay Area. Besides the affordability. Seems to have all the amenities available. Not sure if that's the spaces across the board or not.

We're just going to make everyone pull forward and wait on their order. So in that regard business will remain as usual.

They got rid of the beer. So there’s that.

I saw that. While disappointing, it's probably for the best.

Don't know what working in their space is like BUTTTT Softbank gave the founder and former CEO a $2 BILLION package to not run his own company....take that for what it's worth.

The only thing I take from that is that I need to find a business where I get paid billions to not work.

Apparently, you can be sooooo bad at your job but have a good idea that some company will pay you billions to just not be involved.

Is the cost of moving twice and paying rent at WeWork for 2 months really less than paying double rent price for 2 months?

WeWork is going to be around $6k/mo, and our normal rent is $25k/mo (so would be $50k/mo for March and April.)

So yeah, it's just a little bit cheaper.

My company had a similar situation and they rented cheap offices from Regus... it was nice enough, but I found myself “working remotely” for most of the time we were based there.

It’s not terrible... you just have to deal with shared spaces with the other tenants is all.

AND, that my friends is why the WeWork CEO was fired. LOL.

Sounds to me like your CEO should sign a longer term agreement with Wework?

No definitely not. The nature of our work definitely requires our own space. This is just a temporary setup while they finish renovating our new space.
