I live in the Houston area and visited DFW last weekend. I couldn't believe the traffic. I expected it to be better, not worse.

I moved from br to Houston 7 years ago and although I miss my friends, I've made an entirely new life here. I visit occasionally but really can't say I would ever move back.
Aside from my friends, I miss spontaneous crawfish boils and boat rides on the amite. You just don't get to do that much here without some planning.

Lived in both. DFW. Houston has the better food scene and access to better fishing. Dallas everything else.
