Although I have another friend who lives there and is accepted quite well, however he has a Hawaiian wife and runs their farm

True. It reeks of insecurity, and knowing what I know about Nurse, I'm hardly surprised now that I think about it.

Some do. I would say it's probably 10 percent or less of people like this. Most Hawaiians are the friendliest people you'll ever meet. Very much like the south in that regard.
The biggest thing IMO is to embrace the Hawaiian culture as they are a very proud people. DO wear Hawaiian shirts, learn and use the Shaka in friendly encounters (i.e. Someone lets you pull in front of them in traffic).Also learn some pidgin, which is sort of a Hawaiian English slang.

Loved it when I lived there. If someone ask you if you like beef..... Say no. Stay away from all of the tourist traps, and ask for the kama'aina rates on things. It's for resident/locals. The best beaches are on the north shore away from the tourist, and definitely check out tanalis (spelling) lookout. Best views of Honolulu, Diomond Head, Pearl Harbor, and so on.
Oh and the huli huli chicken fund raising "food trucks" are the shite. Best chicken you'll ever eat!!

Damn dude, why the hate towards me lately?
I sent the pic to terd via fb. He can verify she isn't super cute. I'm no longer friends with her because we are just of opposite personalities. She is very socially awkward and it was difficult being friends with her at times. It just wasn't a healthy friendship.
