Yeah. Worked at Club reg. And you can believe what you want but u know what I made as well as what my coworkers made. The spring and summer suck but the fall we eat and live like kings.

bartenders were floored when I tipped them $5 on a drink order and bought them a shot.

Promise you they weren't floored. Like I said, we each have several people who tip us 20+ each time they come in.

And bought them a shot? They laughed, put that money in their tip bucket and took the shot.

If we want to drink we don't need you to "buy" a shot for us... We'd just grab the bottle and pour it in our mouths

They just don't get it. I used to guest bartend at Serannos after home games. I could easily make $500 or more in 4-6 hours. Like you already said, Quantity and the occasional free drink.

Eh. I don't think so. The waitstaff makes ~$60k working full time, and they make more than the bartenders. I lived with 2 Ruth's employees, one a server and one a bartender.

That said, I agree it is a great place to work. I do our location requires full time from all employees though.

I worked in the service industry in BR for several years (including one of the most popular bars in town), and I believe you that sometimes you walked out with hundreds (500+). In my experience, though, service industry people vastly overestimate what they make overall because they only think about the good nights when they estimate their annual income. Although you did specify that you only did that well during the fall, which makes more sense.

My buddy still in the service industry will tell me he makes $60k, but I know what he walks with in tips on average and it isn't anywhere near an amount that would average out to that.

Honestly, I'd be more inclined to believe Fred's bartenders were pulling in 400+ per night before Reggie's because Fred's attracts the industry crowd and some older people. Maybe Reggie's is more popular than I remember, though.

There was a time when I enjoyed living in BR. Now the thought of living there is horrifying and I feel genuine sorrow for OP.

And you can believe to think my story is bullshite. No one in there is tipping $5 on rounds of two drinks all night. Like greatlakes said, the overall crowd tips like shite. Hell, half the people in there can't even buy alcohol at the bar. I told like 10 people no who asked me to buy drinks.

Hmm. Dude you just said these people come in and they get free shite with the 'tip' they give you. You think they're tipping $20 when you don't give them free shite and charge them full price for drinks? Lol no. I just don't take the whole I have big tipper regulars thing serious when all you're doing is stealing from the place and taking money for it.

And I understand the whole stealing thing at reggies. Hell I spent many nights in there and when it was sports and saw it happen. Had friends working there and Fred's that did all the same shite. The owner must be sitting on a pile of money and don't give a shite or he is stupid as hell.

Oh no those are the consistent numbers for the fall. Spring and summer are abysmal, be lucky to pull in half that.

And a good chunk of that comes from friends giving you big tips for free drinks. Or skimming the register. Ring up a beer and a well mixed drink instead of 2 blue motorcycles and pocket the difference. Or sell the underage kid a wristband for 20 bucks. Working in tigerland had is perks.

Don't hate the player, hate the game. Tigerland is its own animal. But don't jesus dude me. You said yourself you had friends at sport back in the day slinging you free shite. The game hasn't changed. And if you think that's bad. You don't even want to know what the door guys take on a busy game day.

1500 through the door at 20 a person. The guy who holds the money also holds the clicker saying how many people are let in.

Do you think that person is honest?

Ill give you a hint... Not a single one is.

It's tigerland. If you think all the money being made is an honest buck the.n you're naive. Lots of free alcohol being poured or money sliding into the tip jar rather than the register.

Who the frick is running the bar you worked at? At no point does the manager or owner notice... There is a lot of inventory unaccounted for? I know bartenders and waitresses, at a lot of places, are allowed to give away a limited number of drinks per shift or whatever, but its usually like 2 or 3... Sometimes if it is a good night maybe 1 or 2 more.. But if you just giving away drinks and pocketing the money, that can't last too long.. Unless you have an idiot running the show.

You're stealing from the register. I'll Jesus anyone who does that shite.

I understand hooking up regulars and friends. Bar owners expect that and most I imagine encourage it. The regulars aspect of the hooking up, not friends. But you're completely overstepping the already long leash you have.

I had a best friend doing that to my dad's business for God knows how long and for who knows how much money. It's pretty scummy and goes way beyond the expected leakage in a cash dominated business like a bar.

And the door guy stealing doesn't make it any better

Let me break it down for you from a fundamental standpoint: Trashy places attract trashy people and take part in trashy business practices.

Your point?

Like a previous poster said, plenty service industry people exaggerate how much they make, especially in bars like the ones mentioned here and post college hangouts.

These people like to talk about the great nights. I understand you do get some crazy nights where it's pour drinks as fast as you can add tips are non stop. Coincidentally these nights are usually followed by them blowing their cash money at some other bar where their service industry buddies work. What they don't talk about is the more than often nights where they don't make dick and walk out of work averaging minimum wage for the hours they worked.

If you took all the service people's word as gospel in BR, no one would ever try to get a career going and people would become career bartenders.
