just a reminder that THIS YEAR when LSU won the national championship when LSU played Vandy; 30 minutes ahead of the game i was able to drive 20 miles from my house to Vandy, park on the street, buy tickets at the gate and me and little CAD could sit ANYWHERE WE WANTED like it was a high school game..we eventually moved about 6 sections up AT MIDFIELD, then later we walked down on the field and played with Mike the Tiger and got in our car after the game with ZERO traffic and met Mrs CAD for a late lunch a couple miles down the road 15 minutes after the game ended.

so yes, i freaking love it here.

I live in The Nations and this area is blowing up. Housing is expensive around here and the houses they build look like three-story shotgun houses. They will bulldoze a lot with one house and throw two of them on there and charge $400K for it. If I was looking to buy, I would probably start looking at Bellevue, I feel like that is the next area to blow up.

With two babies I hope you're ready to spend 750k-1M min on a house in those area or Sylvan Park.

Everything Caterpillar said. City is amazing, way smaller than Dallas and Austin in the best way.

Traffic isn't that bad once you learn timing. It's nothing compared to ATL, LA or even Dallas in some parts. People are just pussies and move from small crap holes and then wonder why there is traffic. 440 renovation is almost done and will improve things a lot in the downtown loop.

Depending where you work would suggest looking in the Nations, 37210, 37211 (soccer stadium area) and East Nashville for some better bang for your buck. Also Charlotte Park and Bellevue (not meade) out west are a good shout once 440 is done.

Brentwood and Franklin are your Frisco type areas that are south but also can get pretty pricey. Much more suburban than Nashville proper other than historic downtown Franklin.

You're looking at $300+/square foot almost anywhere unless you're willing to live in one of the more up and coming neighborhoods.

As others have said, I've been here 4 years and don't see myself moving unless it was ATX (would need a huge pay bump) or Denver.

Some of the schools, believe it or not, are actually really, really good - even better than some private school options. It's just getting into them is what's difficult.

Shouldn’t have had 2 kids.

Nashville is on my short list of relocation cities as well.
