mountain lions can get over 200lbs. they would completely destroy a pit. the pit would look like the second pic when confronting a male lion

Mountain Lion, easily. Because they are absolute badasses. Anything that can take down a healthy, full grown elk will not have a problem with a dog of any kind.

I'm not sure I wouldn't take a bobcat over a pit. I've killed a couple, and cats with some size to them don't frick around.

Mountain lion is so much quicker and more agile than a pit bull, the pit would never get close enough to the mountain lion to get hold of it. Especially with the lion's claws and longer reach cutting the pit bull all up.

house cats can frick up dogs by scratching the dogs nose and eyes

If you are gonna go with a Mastiff...go with a Cane Corso.

Much more athletic mastiff.

quote:

The Cane Corso is an ancient breed, direct descendant of the Roman Canis Pugnax, Roman War Dog of the first century. It was used in the battlefields as an auxiliary warrior and guardian. In the arenas, the Cane Corso was used to fight lions, bears, bulls, other wild animals and even gladiators. As times changed, so did the duties of the Cane Corso.

The Cane Corso is a very versatile utility dog. They are intelligent, athletic, agile and possesses great stamina. It is famous for it’s hunting abilities in which it excelled in wild boar, bear, wolf, badger and porcupine.

There's a story on google of a 60lb mountain lion with a broken leg killing a pit. It wouldn't even be a fight vs a full grown one

I could post a picture of what two German Shepherds did to my brother-in-law's Pit Bull but I'd like to keep said posting privileges viable.

...I'm going to go with the Mountain Lion.

Today I learned that mountain lions are not considered a traditional "big cat" because they cannot roar.

I'm still taking the quite mountain lion though.

A mountain lion would destroy a pitbull in less than 30 seconds. They have been known to take down moose and elk.

Sounds like my life in college.

cats are so much more athletic and agile than dogs it's not even funny, as well as much smarter.
Outside of wild dogs like wolves, fox, coyotes, African wild dog, dogs are stupid. a Pit Bull will attack a mountain lion like an idiot, and be killed in seconds, no different than your stupid arse lap dogs that bark and bark and bark at people and everything else as if they can kill you. A wolf, if confronted with a mountain lion, will do what it can to defend itself and get the frick out of there.

My lab mix is a pretty smart dog, as far as dogs go. I watched him play chase a kitten around a few years ago and could easily see how much smarter that kitten was than him.
Obedience doesn't mean smart.

A better fight would be a bobcat against a pit, even though the pit bull is bigger.

There is no science to back this up. In fact most studies show the opposite.

Come on guys! This place is slipping. Two pages and nobody makes a joke about mounting the OP's mom's loins last night?
By the way, the correct answer would be mountain lion due to speed and agility, as well as razors for claws.
