Never used nor asked. I'd assume to hit a car coming into your lane...but having had that happen plenty of times you dont have time to whip the car to get them to stop...

Only a biker would be stupid enough to piss off someone behind them in a 3500+ plus vehicle, they would quickly end up as just another motorcycle fatality.

The physics at speed isn’t really working for them though. You’d have to sling it from left to right, to hit me on the right side...and past some speed you’d just be whipping yourself.

I've been riding for damn near 50 years and have never seen that thing. I've seen leather fringe from the ends of grips and thought that looked ridiculous, but not as ridiculous as that thing.

They are for when you fall off, die, and your bike is mangled, they can at least maybe find traces of the whips to identify you.
