An increase in "for profit" tournaments and travel ball are also an issue ruining youth sports. Parents spending thousands, if not tens of thousands, of dollars each year, feel much more invested. Also the tourney organizer is less likely to cancel games due to a shortage of officials, as he or she would have to refund entrance fees.

Most of the players on these travel teams will never even play big time HS baseball, much less College or Pro, parent's often won't accept this and look for someone to blame for little Jaxxton's lack of success.

The attack was clearly justified because as you can plainly see in the picture this umpire is obviously racist.

There are many, many officials out there doing a good job.

The leagues aren't helping when they have different rules for each age group. I know some of that can't be helped, but it just makes it tougher on the officials.

We especially see that in basketball.

Surprised her white privilege force-field didn't protect her.

Here in Georgia for high school all sports are under NFHS rules. But state adaptations supercede NFHS rules. I.e.We run Kansas rules in OT in football. Ball is placed on the 15 on one side of the field, 3 downs to make 1, and each side gets a shot. Starting w/3rd OT, teams must go for 2. But all sports fall under NFHS rules.

We do run 7-man crews for football. And there have been rumblings the last couple of years that football might adopt NCAA(I'd be ok w\this) rules like
Texas,Michigan, and Massachusetts does.

I've called high school baseball for 20 years and high school football for going on 15.
