So what are the chances this woman is completely full of shite?

quote:Yea, I'm confused as to why what happens seem to be murky. It should be well documented, and as you said, there should be a formed signed if they refused transport, and if they refused to sign, again that should be documented.
I’m a medic and I’ve never heard of that happening. I assume the medics got refusal of care signed and documented well.
We should know exactly what happened here, not sure why we don't.

Nobody took Ms. Galloway’s vitals at the scene; responders failed to get a signed confirmation from Ms. Black that her daughter wouldn’t use the ambulance; and, in a follow-up report, medical workers indicated that they had not arrived at the scene at all that morning.
Were they dispatched to the scene but didn't show up? Did the family never even call 911?

No, they didn't. So basically it's a he-said she-said issue.
Yikes

quote:That's cool, if my kid was doing the same, i'd call an Ambulance because of me being his father and wanting him to live and all that.
If my kid if unconscious and foaming at the mouth, I'm driving them to the hospital with a quickness.
I'd hope you're joking and you're not really that shitty of a parent.

You're a bit off the mark here.

Yea that wouldn't fly at my service, dispatch has the times and radio transmissions, so if they ate lying it's just plain stupid, as for the refusal form it should have been signed and documented, also 600 seems low for a ride for an unresponsive pt, that is ALS and soul be transported.

You know why I've never called an ambulance???
Because I'm not sure I can afford one.
No idea how much local/state/fed govt. paid though since it was all tied to his SSN/Medicaid/medicare/etc.. Within 24 hours his govt. records were cutoff and sealed. Mom, his spouse for 60 years, is denied access to his records with the govt..
Only bill Mom has gotten is from the Minor Emergency Clinic the day before he collapsed.
Apparently, it's only expensive if you survive. So take that into account.

I've ridden in an ambulance once after a car accident. They didn't say anything about payment because I was shocked when weeks later the bill showed up in the mail for $3800. I wish they would've warned me about not being able to afford it. They would have been right.

What we know for sure is that the medics went to the house, did not get vitals, did not get the refusal form signed, did not document anyone refused to sign said form, and also lied and indicated that they did not even arrive on the scene then later admitted they did arrive on the scene.
But oddly enough, a lot of posters are putting all of their trust in the medics on this one. Hmm, wonder why.
It's so weird to me this day in age on social media it feels like it's almost impossible for some people to just say they have no clue what happened. Everyone has to take a side.

Ms. Black said that the responders told her she could not afford the $600 ambulance ride to take her daughter to the hospital
Well?
Could she?
If not, they weren't treated poorly because they were black. They were treated the way they were treated because they were poor, and just happened to be black and named Black.

It’s not the medics job to do that
This is bullshite

I live about 3 minutes from a hospital. By the time an ambulance gets to my house, I could have him to the ER.

mom wasnt going to pay the ambulance bill and refused the service, daughter dies as a result of not getting help fast enough, now mom wants to blame them for what "she" did and will get a lawyer trying to get rich off of killing her own daughter by her own neglect in the form of being too cheap to let them help her with emergency life saving care on the way to the hospital
That's all possible, but the medical workers seem to have a pretty shady story too.
