This is a funny question. If you ask this on the Travel Board, most of those baws claim to be able to travel around the world for a month, first class, on only $500.

My daughter isn't much of a beach lover either.

Same with my kids. They are the adventurous type and get bored at the beach after a couple hours. They would easily choose rafting

The preferred tidepooling to sitting on a beach.

Sounds like she would love hang-gliding and skydiving. Both are awesome. She sounds like a spit-fire!

She's definitely kind of a free spirit

Some of those spots were short stays purposefully. We stopped in Bern, Switzerland for 4-5 hours and walked around the city center a bit between trains (Interlaken to Zurich). We stayed one night in Hamburg because it was in between Copenhagen and Berlin and there was a soccer match we wanted to attend (Hamburg v Bayer Leverkusen) the next day.

I typically aim to spend 2 1/2 days per city and 3 1/2 if it’s somewhere I really want to see and/or has a day trip or two I’m interested in.

Good for her. My kind of people. Free spirits self actualize eventually while group thinkers are always trying to impress.

Unless your house, cars, and all loans are paid off this is a really dumb idea

My dad has a place near Bozeman. We are probably heading up there this summer. Free place to stay and tons of things that we can get into to keep her occupied.

The beach would be great, if not for the sand.

I prefer the back waters, mangroves and rivers. Ideally, I would rather be wakeboarding, behind a boat.

I'm not sure I've ever spent more than 2k for a vacation. I'm thrifty, can enjoy the hell out of myself inexpensively

It's really the only way to travel if you want to see a lot unless you're a legit OT baller.

It's how my mom has traveled to all 7 continents and over 110 countries. I've learned well. I don't spend much on vacations because I always want to go somewhere.

She'd rather go hiking and fishing with her dad. She loved rafting. I'm already scouting out our trip this summer.

Oregon (Idaho)....do it!

Hells Canyon....

Eta....great bass and catfish fishing in the Snake River. Plenty of views and hiking.

Yeah I've never understood the desire to be able to say you spent more than others on vacation. It works counter to my modest thinking.

Most heavy travelers I know do it on the inexpensive side. Go more places, spend less in each

The trip to Hana is really cool. As well as the black sand beach, when you get there.
