This is interestingly one of the types of threads that lead to the selective bias when constructing the OT stereotype. Out of probably 3000 people who read this thread, only 200 or so respond. This selects for the stronger people.
For me—300 pounds. Was repping 225 for ten at the time and wanted to try it. Exactly 300 too, with 2.5 washers on each side. Not 305.

The best I ever benched was 315 on a one rep max. That was in fall of 1984, my senior year in high school. Even though I was working hard to get my max higher I just never could get pas 315. I worked out hard while playing football but since I graduated I haven’t hardly touched a weight. In high school I weighed between 195-200 depending on when I weighed lol.
My best lift was pull overs with a curl bar. Best max ever on that one was 225 and no one on the team could beat that even though multiple team mates would kick my arse on all other lifts. Just seemed that pull overs were a good fit for me.

squats are a diff story.
Deads too. I actually probably squat/dead more at 50 than I did in my 30's while off and on gear. I pretty much attribute that to being much more focused on form now and that I am not really training BJJ 7 days a week like I was then either staying constantly injured. I typically get into the mid-500's on a normal quad day and am pretty comparable on the dead lift. In fact, I pulled my best dead last year of 610 at a bw of 200.

245 right after HS @ about 185 lbs.
Never really did bench after that. Doubt I could lift 2 plates more than once or twice right now.

Dang man, that is impressive. When I was in sports in the late 60's weightlifting was not deemed that important. How times changed

Yeah, that's quite impressive. My pushes are better than my pulls.

I could do the same 10 reps with 225 but could never break 300
Now I’m gassed doing 185 for 6 reps

Squats and deadlifts were not really a thing for most in the 80s/90s. We were all doing Arnold split routines. Chest/tris/shoulders, back/bis. By leg day on Wednesday, we were hung over until the next Monday, which was chest day.
I wish I had done a three times a week routine incorporating deadlifts back in the day.

Thanks boss. Will keep in mind. I feel like my chest, tris, and shoulders are strong but my frame/wrists does hold me back from pushing it 100% on the bench.
