NYC! My daughter and I are standing at a street corner in Times Square. My daughter hears someone call her name. It was one of her classmates and his family. I know them too. It was odd.

Not one, but TWO fraternity brothers, whom I haven´t seen in twenty five years (they were seniors when I pledged as a frosh), the same evening, in my gym.

Really, really weird (neither are from the area, and stopped in that gym by happenstance).

Just last week in Las Vegas I ran into my next door neighbor in the elevator at the casino. Yes Las Vegas is a popular spot but when you think about all the casino options, which wing of the hotel, which actual elevator and exactly the right timing it was kind of strange!

Santa Barbara. Was there for a wedding weekend (for a friend from NJ who was working at the time in Santa Barbara) and ran into a friend of mine's younger sister (originally from SWLA) randomly while coming out of a bar.

Didn't happen to me but my sister had an exchange student a few years back from Germany. They take her to New Orleans one weekend to see the sights and while near Jackson Square she over hears a couple speaking German. She starts up a conversation with them and come to find out they are from the same town back in Germany as she is and they only live a couple miles down from her on the same street. Small world indeed.

I was outside a movie theater in New York and ran into a guy I'd known for years, but hadn't seen in a while. He was living there, I was there for a conference.

Was unexpected, but cool.

I was in Little Rock Ark, pumping gas at the pump. The police rush in and arrest a guy in the convenience store who had pulled a gun. They bring him out to the back of the car. We're all rubber necking as hell and the perp goes hey _ _ (my name) is that you. I look and say Jules??? He says yea man....He says "how bout comin get me out...I'm like is there someone I can call?? he's like don't worry about it...We went to high school together. He was a piece of shite then also. I wasn't surprised..

While in college, I was called for jury duty in Grant Parish. While I was sitting around, before everything got started, a guy I went to high school with sat down in front of me and bullshitted for a few minutes.

Once business gets started, it's not too long until I notice he's standing with his lawyer in front of the judge.....

Around 98 I was working for Delta and spent a year in Ft Walton, one day I checked in actor Jay Thomas and his family.

Around 02 I was back in Louisiana at a different job and was doing some work in downtown BR. Went to get a plate lunch at Job's Cafe and Jay Thomas is in there eating.

Around 06 I'm at the airport in New Orleans to pick up my first wife and son. I go to the bathroom and as I'm entering Jay Thomas is walking out.

If you don't know who Jay Thomas is, the biggest thing I can think of that he was in was Mr Holland's Opus, he was the football coach. He's also from New Orleans.
