Baws love them some places with no shoulders on the road and no sidewalks. Must be a fat person thing to like this.

Actually nice and wealthy neighborhoods have sidewalks and a lot of foot traffic

The only demographic that doesn’t do a lot of walking is fat middle class whites

If they are in an urban area, yeah. Otherwise, most wealthy neighborhoods don't have sidewalks. Middle class suburban neighborhoods have sidewalks.

Here's an example from arguably the nicest street in Houston. No sidewalks: Google Street

Most sidewalks are in neighborhoods.

Worthless because a-hole pedestrians walk on the street since it’s softer on their knees.

It's kind of location dependent, but I'd say on a whole in this country that most wealthy neigborhoods in this country do indeed have sidewalks.

And yet all of River Oaks does.

OLD money neigborhoods pretty much will all have sidewalks.

Weird thread.

Inside the loop and more walkable to stuff so it makes sense to have sidewalks. Whereas in Houston Memorial there are mostly no sidewalks.

We can find examples of both but point is, sidewalks have no bearing on the wealth of a neighborhood

The sidewalk in front of my house is like a MILF freeway at 8:00 each morning.

Perhaps. It was an issue you brought up, though, and to which I was just countering your "most" assertion. I don't think it's correct from what I've observed.

I didn't bring it up. I was responding to someone who said "neighborhoods with sidewalks are so much nicer than neighborhoods without". To which I say is just not true.

Right. You interjected wealth/wealthiest and most into the equation.

You weren't correct in that.

You have to admit that this was a dumb statement

quote:

Also if a neighborhood is really that nice it shouldn't have a lot of thru traffic, decreasing the need for sidewalks in the first place.

Suburban or urban, people are walking in nice neighborhoods

You are going to have to show a lot more work to than an example of one neighborhood in one city.

ETA: A Google search seems to indicate the opposite and the presence of maintained sidewalks is a good indicator for higher home values.
