Brazil will be the next super power in the Western Hemisphere. They have a pretty good economy and middle class, large population, plenty of resources. They’ve been slowly but surely moving up in the world. It’s just taking them awhile to update roads and ports to handle a lot of commerce. The potential is there

Not buying the Yanks at #1.

now simply remove the nukes from the equation and we arent even going to be on the list as we will be around #20 in the world most powerful military
Our navy by itself keeps us in the top 10

the US Navy keeps the US DoD #1. no one else has a fleet like it.

we are only #1 because of the nukes and not because the military scares anyone
We are #1 because of our navy

And Air Force.
And infantry.
And reserves.
Even without nukes we’d be number 1

basically the US spends alot of money on ambitious projects that amount to nothing,
IMO the US spends a lot of money on ambitious projects that minimize mass casualty events like Omaha Beach or Iwo Jima.
I have little doubt that the Chinese military would send 100K soldiers into a wood chipper if it provided the means to an end.

That's why I thought they had a much larger ground force than just 2 million men. Not the best trained army, but they don't have to be when they are just cannon fodder in human wave attacks.

And are ready and willing to actually expend them.

Won't require nukes. They don't have a lot of fight in them to go toe to toe.

Lol you got to love it, a popular simulation for military think tanks is could the American military defeat the entire worlds militaries or could the USA be invaded by the world’s combined forces and the answer ranges from stalemate to possible U.S victory but some baws doubt we are #1 because of some liberal policies tha are beyond stupid in all honesty. We can hate progressive polices and say they shouldn’t touch the military while
still admitting we have by far and away the most powerful military. As a matter of fact we are the only global power in the world. Even China and Russia are only regional powers based on their limitations.

China would have to send that cannon fodder straight into the ocean to drown being as they don’t even have the ability to cross the Taiwan straight currently lol

Since 1945 the US has proven that it doesn’t matter how much money you spend on military. The L’s have piled up.

Apparently they have an additional 1.3M in reverses/paramilitary units
But also, would China actually say what all they have?

the US, the reserves are equipped almost as well as active duty and take part in routine training.
Concur with this. I did 32 years in the Guard. The distance the Guard/Reserves have come since 9/11 is remarkable.

US force projection is light years ahead of these others. That and despite what others may say, we hold and will continue to hold a significant edge, in my biased opinion, the greatest Navy and particularly Submarine force in the fricking world. That is all . carry on.

Were you ever on active duty or does this opinion come from late nights on COD?
