Pallet repair. That last pallet in the stack of 20 was a sumbitch to get up there.

I lasted two days. Every muscle in my body hurt for weeks. I was paid by the pallet and the workers there told me I was working too fast. I never understood that.

Summer job stacking 40 (~6800-7100 per shift)/50 (~5500-5700 per shift)/80 (~3500-3700 per shift) pound bags of various salt products 40 hours a week. Was brutal as the room temp was ~120* due to steam used to create the water softener pellets but ~$18 an hour 40 hours a week through the summer while in college was worth it.

Worked at the docks in LC when I was 17. Basically just stood in the hull of a ship unloading sacks of grains that were being lowered in on pallets from overhead. Did it for a week until they realized I wasn't 18. It was the most physically draining job I've ever done by far. 8 hours of just straight upper body workout.

Mechanic. You don't realize how much using your arms for little things work you to death.

Or... Lobbying firm.

The amount of wear and tear on my liver was extraordinary. I would sometimes wake up with a literal swollen liver.

Yeah my dad said it was a 7-11 when he was a kid and it was funny because you could definitely tell. They still had the drink cooler doors and everything but they kept flowers in them now.

High school summer job as a grunt worker for a crew that laid natural gas pipe in Alabama. Basically that meant I dug ditches with a shovel in 100 degree, humid weather. Started at sun up and didn't quit some days until sun down. Just brutal and backbreaking.

Although I had about a three week break when they were trenching under a highway where I got to be the traffic control flag guy. That was easy as shite and was hilarious getting cat calls from all the redneck women driving by. Many solicitations, a couple actually tempting. Was sad when the trench was done and it was back to the ditch for me.

Worked for a pipeline maintenance company in the summers during college. One summer I spent 3 months reclaiming a pipeline in Sorrento. The foreman would drop me off in the swamp in waist deep water with a chainsaw, oil, and gas and I'd cut down trees for about 10 hrs. The only time I could set the saw down is when I cut down a tree and set it on the stump. shite was brutal, but kinda fun. Biggest drawback was the alligators, snakes, and wasps.

Was a laborer on a maintenance crew for JE Merit inside Exxon

Was the heat of the summer in full PPE gear running a jackhammer and whackerpacker that weighed as much or more than I did.

Yeah I've done this too. Doesn't seem like it would be too hard but it will wear you out.

Stacking sucks. Id rather walk and throw than stack. Especially when loading into an enclosed ( stock) trailer

I was an ironworker for 14 years and although that's hot it had nothing on working as a route driver for a food service company. Imagin driving 3 hours to your first stop, uploading a 48' trailer packed from the front to the back and driving back home. That's a long day, sometimes 14-15 hours.

We deliver mostly to Popeyes, running 12-50lb sacks of flour on a handtruck into a store wasn't very easy, but I stayed in shape.

Ditto. Worked in the IT department of a school district during summers when I was in college. One summer, everyone got smart boards.
