Most masculine small SUV?

My 4-Runner bit the dust, which actually was a blessing in disguise as I got more for it than it was worth. But I’m driving a lot more than I thought I would be when I bought it, so want to downsize to something with better gas mileage, but can still haul the kids when necessary.
Want something a few years old, probably ‘15-‘18. I’m thinking Toyota RAV4, Honda CRV, Volkswagen Tiguan, Mazda CX-5, something like that. Trying to stay under 20k. Suggestions?

jeep cherokee is more masculine because it's a jeep.

I really like the RAV4 but thats personal preference. My wife drives a Tiguan and I feel its too girly for me to drive as my main vehicle plus they require premium gas. CRV is pretty masculine too.

How dare you assign gender... to a motorized vehicle.

My wife drives a 2018 Subaru Forester. It has the upgraded turbo 4 with dual exhaust in it and is of course like all Subarus all wheel drive. It gets almost 30 on the highway and about 23-24 in the city. It’s got a little pep and rides well. That being said, prolly not finding it for 20k b/c you had to get the touring model to get the upgrade. At least the Subaru has the outdoors image working for it. They do not offer the engine upgrade in the 19s though.

Yeah but it’s a Jeep.

As an owner of a Hyundai Santa Fe, nothing. There is no small suv that is masculine at all.
A Jeep comes close, but if you’re looking for mpg’s, look elsewhere

Really doesnt exist unless you spend some money on something like a Porsche Macan or Alfa Romero Stelvio.
Almost all those small SUVs good on gas under $20k that's barely used is going to look like early mom mobiles.
Mazda CX-5 maybe least mom-like of the ones you specifically mentioned.

Why not get another 4-Runner?

Does your wife also wear flannel, have unfinished carpentry projects in your living room, and love the WNBA?
