about 20 years ago my wife and I wanted a nice Class A, daughter's last year of softball, we were about to be empty nesters, and we thought we'd travel like heck for a while, we lived in Palm Beach County at the time and not a whole lot of choices, we flew to Dallas where there are tons of dealerships, picked one out and ordered one, when it came in we flew out to pick it up and were going to have a nice road trip home as a shake down cruise, we were doing the acceptance walk around and my wife (keen eye for detail,) kept pointing put flaws (brand new rig straight from the factory,) the list kept getting longer and the sales guy said "there's a dealership a couple of hours away from you, they can have all of this done in about a week, the wife came unglued, I had a check in my shirt pocket for just under $300k, I showed it to the salesman and said, as you can see this check is made out to you(the dealership,) if you want this check, don't piss off the wife, he went and got the owner, owner said take it or leave it, we headed straight for he rental car, with the salesman following and begging just like a dog I am forever grateful to those two for pissing off the wife that day

Yeah, wish I’d walked on a few vehicles over the years

Did you ever pull the trigger on one?

Been struggling with
100k truck plus 100k camper
Vs
250k Thor and pull a 30k Jeep

I won’t get any of it new, find everything 2-3 years old at a nice discount

But seems like it is easier to unload the Thor class A if you decide after 5 years you don’t want to do it anymore

The best deal on a class a mh is a 2-3 year old used, PPL Houston is the location. Be brutal offer 25% less than price offered. Previous owner will feel screwed but happy to get out of ownership.

All motor homes are basically one off construction and the list of items to fix will be long. Do not accept with a promise to repair, once the sale is complete it will take 6 months to get the shop to fix

The only Class A I'd consider is Tiffin or Prevost.

Super C is the way.

Always hire an independent inspector, even on a new unit. Check dealer rep on the owners' group of the brand you're considering before purchase.

Avoid any unit built from 21-23. Absolute low point in quality for just about every manufacturer.
