A friend just died two days ago. A motorcycycle accident while not wearing a helmet. Was going through a tramatic divorce to him, several of us who know him are unsure if his wreck was an accudent ot not.

Sucks for family and all. To early in his life to pass on. His last wife started his downfall with her shenanigans and he went downhill from there.

Gonna miss that bastard....

We cross lakes in the winter in MN. A couple were walking to the store when it cracked and they fell in. They found the BF frozen to the ice at the hole, he couldn't get out. The girl was found 30 feet from the hole frozen too. They were a stone's throw from his house.

The young boy 2 years old that died this week in Tennessee has bothered me. What was going through his young mind as he wandered through the woods in this freezing weather. Makes me really wonder if there is a God.

Not in the sense that religious types believe. There is an intelligence behind creation most definitely.

We have done work on debarking drums and that would not be a way I would want to go out.

Some of the deaths in the Peds ICU at my work were pretty bad. Few years ago had two toddlers die weeks of each other....both pulled old TVs off dressers onto them and it crushed their heads.

One kid internally decapitated from being too small to sit in front seat of car(force from airbag did it)

Ok, I'm done with this thread.

A friend of mine was a few weeks out of High School and working as an apprentice electrician.

Somebody fired the panel up and he was electrocuted to death. Hadn't even hit his 19th birthday yet.

He was an only child and his father died only a few years before. The memory of his mother being notified by phone is as vivid today as it was 20 years ago.

Shotgun suicides are violent. They usually completely remove the face and head, or some complete/ incomplete variation thereof. I responded to one that put the gun in his mouth and took off everything except the jaw, tongue, base of his head and part of one ear. He was still breathing about once every 10 seconds. Of course he didn't live, but his brain stem was still neurologically intact enough to make his diaphragm still move. That only lasted about 1 minute. The sound and sight was something you might see in a horror movie. One of the PD officers stepped into the bathroom and vomited.

Sweet dreams.

My freshman year at Tech (1985), an acquaintance broke the chain securing the door to the roof of an 11 story dorm (Nielsen Hall). We heard he was standing on the ledge up there threatening to jump. We ran from our dorm over there to see if we could help. We hollered at him from the ground to try to talk him out of it. He stepped back out of our view and we breathed a sigh of relief. Sadly, he had stepped back to get a running start. We saw him jump and heard him screaming all the way down. Landed on a bike rack with a sound I'll never forget. Found out later it was all over a girl who was still in high school. He had been planning it for two months. RIP CG

Damn. Moved into Neilsen the year after and heard stories about that.
