Shame Trump Tower never came to fruition. Would’ve been legit with a modern sky scraper
Absolutely!
Next year will make 50 years that the Hancock Whitney Center (Shell Square) will have had the distinction as the tallest.
Meanwhile in that same time frame in Shanghai;

Don't get me wrong though, I believe like others in this thread that for a "smaller city" the NO skyline is nothing to sneeze at.

NFL Writer Ben Volin ranks best NFL destinations. Obvious Number 1 is obvious.

Shreveport has a nice night time skyline. Come at me

I think only NYC, Chicago, Seattle, and SF have it beat.
Miami has gotten pretty impressive. I actually find the sort of sprawling nature of Atlanta’s sort of interesting as well. Pittsburgh just has such a neat setting that really accentuates it.

Downtown San Antonio sucks. It’s in the top 10 population and without the river walk it would be awful
I was thinking the same thing before posting about Fort Worth, but they have added one building that's pretty cool looking (Frost Tower below) and there are plans for more that will help to sort of fill in the skyline eventually, if built.
I think I read somewhere that there is a building code in place that prevents skyscrapers from blocking sunlight reaching the Riverwalk for a certain amount of hours during the day so developers have to take that into account before getting approval for their projects. Sort of like in Austin where you aren't supposed to block the sightlines of the State Capital.

Cincinnati’s is pretty nice too. But, yes, Pittsburgh is impressive for its size.

I would like to travel upward in a building that’s at least 100 floors. And do it in about 45 seconds.

These actually make the NOLA skyline seem pretty big.

Vancouver also has a great skyline

Seattle doesn't have a disappointing skyline, in fact it's beautiful but too many buildings have been built now. It may have peaked in the 90s.
I’m in Seattle as we speak. While the city has absolutely gone to hell and gone fully insane (makes me feel privileged to live in Denver that still somewhat has its sanity despite the Karens), the skyline is still beautiful.

Los Angeles should be embarrassed at their skyline. Almost zero distinguishing buildings.
Only one comes to mind is the Captiol records building.

Are the largest Cincy buildings all insurance companies. I think I've read Ohio is the best state for them when it comes to lawsuits.
Columbus is more of the insurance location, and it is a pretty boring skyline. Seems like a correlation between availability of land and skylines. Cities like Pittsburgh, Cincinnati and New Orleans have to deal with water, whereas towns like Indianapolis or Columbus just end up being meh...because, really, why build up so much?

I'd have to say Jackson but does it even have a skyline?
Comparable to a lot of towns

I always thought New Orleans was pretty impressive driving in on I-10, but my wife was unimpressed the first time she saw it. I guess that's because it's so centralized compared to Atlanta. You pretty much see the whole damned thing all at once.
Albany actually looks kind of cool to me, at least if you're flying in.

As much as I hate Los Angeles, can't hate on the skyline when it's got the San Gabriel Mountains as a backdrop.
