San Jose - the skyline is pretty underwhelming considering it's the 10th most populous city in the country. You'd think there would be higher buildings as it Silicon Valley and land is crazy expensive there.

Internationally has to be Karachi, Pakistan. The world's 12th largest city has only one building over 700 ft tall.

Since it always comes up in these threads.

New Orleans has a fantastic skyline for a city of its size.

New Orleans has an alright skyline but it hasn't changed much in the last 20-30 years. The best mid-size city skyline has to be Pittsburgh.

Luanda Angola was ranked as the most expensive city in the world a few years back and that place looked like Syria when you came in on an airplane.

San Jose is hardly known though. I guarantee if I asked most people outside of California on “Which city had a bigger population: San Jose or San Francisco?” most people would answer San Francisco. I would have until the past 5 years.

And the answer from my experience is Beijing. The city is absolutely massive, and has tons of 30 story buildings, but save for this building, the skyline is extremely unimpressive, especially in comparison to Hong Kong (the most impressive skyline in the world), Shanghai, and Guangzhou. Taipei blows it out of the water as well.

IMHO, Pittsburgh might be the most underrated city in the U.S.

I think only NYC, Chicago, Seattle, and SF have it beat.

Downtown San Jose is on the approach path to SJC.The FAA has imposed building height restrictions for the downtown area.

I always thought that Memphis' skyline was just slightly more impressive than Baton Rouge's

It IS the most underrated city in the US. Also Pittsburgh blows Philly out of the water making sandwiches, including making a better Philly Cheese Steak than they do.
