Tigerland and el cid is the only answer

Interstate, Perkins, Acadian, Highland, and Burbank were all within 3 minutes. Decent restaurants, overpass bars, the lakes, campus, and downtown don't take long to get to at all. Your office would take 12 minutes to get to with no traffic in the interstate
Garden District, Capital Heights, Hundred Oaks area.

I live in the Airline/Bluebonnet/Coursey area, easy access to everything.

Garden district all the way to old Goodwood. Anywhere in there.

I agree.

You will spend 15 mins total waiting for lights to turn green in BR. Within 30 mins is more accurate, and even that is a bit of a stretch.

The Garden District. It's very centrally located and, with a little luck, you can find an awesome house for a decent price. I absolutely regret ever leaving that area.

Don't live in Garden District unless you like old houses, roaches, and car break-ins.

I think the Garden Dist is best.
You cut through your own neighborhood and you're on Government/Mid City.. or you go the other direction and you're at the overpass.. or you go the other direction and you're on campus.
It's perfect.
Now if you mean convenient to Sherwood/Coursey and Central, I guess Jefferson/Bluebonnet would be an option.

Maybe during the work day. Not true at night and on weekends.

I live in Capital heights and love it. Easy access pretty much anywhere you want to go.

Its also because the schools arent that great. But then again the public school system in BR is shite as well.
To answer your question, Id look in the Hickory Ridge/ Shenandoah area. Ive lived in that area my whole life and its easy to get anywhere you want.
The main queation that will help your search though is what type of price range are you looking to be around ?

Grew up in Southdowns and always loved the area for its' convenience.

If you work near Coursey at Sherwood, I'd live in Parkview, Hickory Ridge, Broadmoor, Jefferson/Bluebonnet, or Sherwood....maybe even Tara, Ceadercrest, Goodwood, or Capitol Heights (depending on your price range).
The only trouble I had with traffic in that area is Airline@Old Hammond, that stupid stop sign in Ceadercrest, Airline@Coursey, and Bluebonnet south of Jefferson.

I'd move closer to 1-10. On the other side of Jefferson Hwy from the whole Sherwood Forest Hickory Ridge area . Then you can hop on 1-10 and be downtown in minutes. Hop on 1-10 and be in Ascension (or headed to Nola) in minutes. Hop on 1-12 and be headed to Livingston (or Mandeville) in minutes. Or take Airline either way. Or take Bluebonnet to Perkins Rowe and MOL etc. Plus that area has the infrastructure to support the traffic. I mean, how do you beat Jefferson Hwy for access.
Jefferson Terrace, Westminster, Bocage-that is where it's at for what he is looking for.

When I lived in BR, I looked at some houses in the garden district, but decided I needed some type of yard instead and chose Southdowns

I don't know why, but I do not like this area. Hard for me to even consider it BR. It's just not somewhere anyone goes unless they live there

I always forget about Westminster and that area off Jefferson. I have cousins tha live in there.
That's a good area with affordable housing, easy access to Costco and Airline (the back way), I-12, Essen, a Whole Foods, a couple of independent grocers, and the SuperTarget off Millerville is pretty close.
