I have been to all 50 states at least once. Anyone who mentions a western state is an idiot. All of those states have fantastic scenery at the very least.

The only answer can be one of plains states in flyover country or a New England state that is too small to have a lot of interesting things to see.

The Midwest is great for hunting and not much else.

Mississippi, more specifically every county north of Hancock, Harrison, and Jackson.

I didn't have the chance to travel all over the state...but Bridgeport, Connecticut was the biggest s-hole I can recall visiting.

I used to spend a lot of time in Oklahoma. I loved going there. The people were awesome, and the number of Armenian Steak houses in Tulsa alone...just thinking about the steak and tabbouleh brings tears to my eyes.

I would go to Tulsa and hit the bars at Brookside or the Riverwalk. It was a blast.

Arkansas is pretty brutal to drive thru

Wont argue with you much on that one. The most scenic drives are the west, northwest, and north central section of the state. The drive up from Ft. Smith to Fayetteville is beautiful though

I think you've got to flip a coin between Indiana or Kansas. Des Moines alone keeps Iowa out of the conversation. It's a really nice town for those who haven't been.

Now, regarding Kansas and Indiana, Lawrence, KS is actually a pretty cool town. It's surprisingly a little more eclectic than one would imagine. It's also pretty close to Kansas City which is a very underrated town.

The parts of Indiana that I've been to were boring and pretty miserable. Nothing going on and stretches of cornfields. That said, I haven't been to Bloomington or Indianapolis - which isn't too appealing in and of itself.

If you could remove Chicago from the state, Illinois would certainly belong in this list.

At the Arkansas replies.

Fayettville, Bentonville, Eureka Springs, Ouachita National Forest, The Ozarks, the White River, Hot Springs ... hell, Little Rock isn't too bad if you haven't been in a while.

Huntsville? Muscle Shoals? Florence? Guntersville Lake? Plenty of other "boring state(s) to live in/visit."

Slight spin off of the Kansas thread. What would be the most boring state to live in? Every state seems to have at least a couple of redeeming qualities but Kansas, and North Dakota especially just seem like such a bore.

Nice. The annual thread that always brings out the ignorant homers

This is a tough question because there are really good places to live in most states and really awful places to live in others.

Rural areas are mostly the same, with the only redeeming qualities of some being proximity to larger cities.

I would much rather live in Wichita kansas than middle of nowhere Alabama, but as a whole Alabama is probably considered a "less boring" state to live in.

Amazed at all the people saying Rhode Island. It has great beaches, Newport is an awesome little town with the Breakers and a nice downtown, Providence is sketchy but has an Ivy League school and a pretty decent restaurant scene, etc.

By no means do I think it’s the most exciting state to live in, but I definitely wouldn’t consider it the most boring.

You need better hobbies then. There's a little something for everyone in Alabama, especially as an outdoorsman.

You've got the Pinhoti trail, a 330+ mile hiking trail that starts in the Talladega national forest and connects to the Benton Mckaye in Georgia before running into the Appalachian trail.

You can catch a rainbow trout on a fly rod in the Sipsey Fork, or catch a speckled trout on a fly rod in Mobile Bay. You can go to Dismal Canyon in Franklin county and see the glowing dismalites, one of the few places in the world that this happens. Alabama has the longest navigable scenic river trail in the nation. It boasts the second largest delta in the country that's home to several species that are found there and there only. Alabama ranks third among all U.S. states in the number of troglobite species, due to it's vast explorable cave systems. Alabama is truly one of the more geologically diverse states in the country

Not into the outdoors? There are dozens of excellent breweries across the state. Mobile Mardi Gras is a great time every year. The Peanut festival in Dothan. Sloss Fest in Birmingham. Visit Muscle Shoals if you're a music buff, or Huntsville if you're a space buff. Selma if you're a history buff. The SEC baseball tournament every year. I mean, if you can't find something fun to do in Alabama then odds are you're just a miserable person. From the appalachian mountains to the white sand beaches of the gulf, I just don't see how there isn't something for everyone.

I'll give you Mississippi, but as an outdoorsman there's plenty to do there as well. If I showed you pictures of red bluff outside of Tylertown you wouldn't believe it was in Mississippi. The flyover states take this question in landslide. Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, Iowa...there is just no geological diversity in those states and no major cities with a ton to offer

This is wrong. I went to a Nebraska/Texas football game w a Husker alum, and we had 3 extra days there. Lincoln had a quality strip club, Omaha is awesome, casinos in Quad Ctities, Huskers know how to party.

I'd take North Mississippi over North Louisiana. North Alabama blows them both away. It's North Georgia with a mid sized city
