Do you give money to the homeless? I always prefer to pass food items or water, but what’s the most amount of money you’ve ever given to a beggar or
the homeless?
I give money to homeless females, but only if they're willing to give the GFE.

Rare that I carry cash
On the off hand I do, normally tell them they have a higher net-worth than me and flip it around

I give cold bottles of water during summer. One guy claimed to be a starving vet needing money to get some lunch. I gave him some apples and bananas. As I drove away, in the rear view mirror I watched him throw the fruit on the ground and approach the next sucker.

I've had the same thing happen - I remember giving one my leftovers from Bennigans back in the day... drove by later and that shite was sitting on the ground along with some other food items/drinks others had given him. All they want is $ to support their addictions. Very rarely I'll see one with a sign that says HUNGRY - PLEASE HELP who actually just wants food.

Should we include taxes?…

I get irrationally angry whenever I see someone giving money to the beggars on the street

So you are an ahole. Got it.

Went and bought a hamburger and gave it to the dog next to the homeless guy.

This thread confirms how many shallow aholes post here.
$30 is the most I have given. It was a family of 4 with a broken down vehicle.
$5 is more typical for me. I understand there are scammers and many undeserving out there. This used to prevent me from giving. I also know firsthand about the number of people with mental issues that cause their lives to be miserable. Many times your assumptions about them are not accurate.
Anyone that projects their assumptions on to a large number of others is shallow minded.

I cash app'd a "veteran" who was missing a leg $20. He had his ID on his sign.
He was old and i wasnt going to 20 question him about his service. I figured if he was lying that was his Karma.

Congratulations on wasting your money and supporting their lifestyles.
People like you are the exact reason we have so many beggars on every corner.

I've come across a couple of people within the last year who accepted some food I had in the car.

I have a new method. I try to catch their eye and beat them to the punch. I ask “Got a dolla?”

Was traveling home on leave and stopped at the waffle house for a break and it was about 4 in the morning. A girl about my age gave me a sob story and how she was starving and she wanted something to eat. I told her go to the counter at the waffle house and order some breakfast and I will pay for it. She looked confused and just asked for cash. I said no I will pay for a meal for you. She said oh and left. I don't give money to support drug habits.
Omg you’re a monster how can you be so cruel

I have given to old beggars with missing limbs. Bc if you’re an old guy sitting in the sun and you’re missing a leg, hell I’ll give you $5 for a beer or whatever.
But I’m not giving the family of gypsies outside the Home Depot a dime. Or all the young able bodied beggars.

$100 a few months ago
I had gotten off the subway and saw a middle-eastern looking mom and kid along the steps. I have an infant now and seeing homeless kids on the street just hits me different now.
It kept nagging at me after I saw it, so I found an ATM and pulled out some cash and walked back. Got there just in time as some security guy was badgering them to leave.
I'll never miss that $100 (I hope), but I like to think it made a world of difference for them, even if just for a day or two.
