I’ve sprayed for them during the day and put a
lick on them. Used Talstar. Sprayed all the foliage around the house and the home structure. Doesn’t get them all, but it thins those little bastards out.

If you want relief tonight you best have citronella candles or some Raid flying insect killer.

I use multiple methods. Using mosquito dunks, Spartans. These traps that use lights. Any one method doesn’t cut it.

I stopped killing every living thing outside my house and things really started to balance out. Frogs and Lizards get FAT under my back patio and it remains mosquito free. The front is more manicured and less frogs and lizards and the front patio has mosquitos every dusk.

Thermocell

I live in Rice country. Mosquitoes just laugh at Thermocell.

The best thing you can do is spray, put those tablets in any stagnant water, and use a strong fan to blow the little bastards away.

I really feel for those people who are mosquito magnets. I can sit on a porch or somewhere they're swarming and never get bit. Someone could sit beside me and get eaten alive.

It isn't that I never get bit. I do a few time a year, but I barely feel the bite and they don't itch at all really. Within a few minutes the bite mark is completely gone.

Maybe I need to have my blood studied.

Backpack fogger with Talstar. No mosquitoes for 3 weeks, nothing else either except horseflies and deer flies.

We have this thing. It takes a few weeks to make a dent but now that we’ve had it for a month we’ve really noticed a difference. I didn’t expect it to work nearly as well as it does.

Funny story.

My daughter was like 4 and she asked me why the mosquitoes were biting her.

I told her she must have sweet blood.

She asked me why does she have sweet blood..

I replied that God must have made her with sweet blood.

She stood up and with a shocked face asked me... Why does God want me to get bitten by mosquitoes?!

It was hilarious.

We use a thermocell. We also have a small black Flagg fogger machine.

Do not fog eating areas. If I have a BBQ or something I spray a couple hours before we bring food outside.

I was helping a neighbor farmer work on an irrigation pump last week in a damn water-filled hole. Right at dusk he threw in the towel because he was getting the "life sucked from him". I think I got one bite. I honestly have no idea why they don't like me, but I'm not complaining.

ETA: Now, damn biting flies are the opposite. They seem to love me. I hate those frickers!

Strangely enough my sister is the same as you. And she used to actually be allergic to them. If she got bit it would swell and get as big as a half dollar. I guess she grew out of that because she still attracts them, but she doesn't have the allergic reaction like she used to.

I don't spray much around my home because of pollinators. You can spray just before dark and use the Thermocell after dark and minimize killing beneficials.
