That's exactly how I describe to people.

I was raised lds until my mom left the church but almost all of my family are true believers. I hate visiting because they all make me feel like shite with their multiple languages, charity work, and homemade bread baking.

I'm in the same boat, but my parents are hardcore.

Alcohol actually saved my marriage. I don't see anything wrong with it as long as you're not a lush

I have worked with a number of Mormans in recent years and they are some of the nicest, smartest, most sincere people I have ever met. I must admit that I had met very few Mormans prior to my recent colleagues and I think it is a highly misunderstood religion (e.g., polygamy has been rejected for decades now).

It’s definitely made me look into the religion more because I hope to have a conversation with my colleagues about it in the near future. It’s important to understand their beliefs.

I enjoy being around Mormons. Thousands from BYU come up and work for the summer. Awesome kids. Impecible work ethic, strong values

Some companies recruit and train in SLC area for that reason

I AM aware that the Book of Mormon 'picks up' where the Bible leaves off

You're not very aware because that is not true at all.

And practices such as not allowing non-Mormons into the Temple

A lot of Mormons are not allowed in the temple either. I went to a wedding recently and there were Mormons sitting with me in the waiting area. I am surrounded by mormons at family reunions and they are as normal a group that you will find. They never tear down or ridicule other religions either. Do they think theirs is true? Yep

I find it interesting that several of my pastors/ministers have spent many a sermons bashing Mormonism, and I have seen it many times on this board. Yet I have attended services with my wife on occasion and have never once heard a sermon bashing another religion. Not one time in my 22 years of marriage.

Some of the other things listed are no stranger than some other religions strange practices. Catholic religion has many strange traditions, costumes, and practices. Mormons are every bit a Christian in my book than any others who make that claim based on their actions towards others in their everyday life.

Natural disasters the Mormon church sends truckloads of supplies, food, and water without regard to what religion they belong. Soon after you will see thousands and thousands coming into volunteer for cleanup and rebuilding lives. Helping strangers with no conditions based on religion. I know this because my wife and her family have gone to several of these. Look up Mormon helping hands.

The local church where my wife attends always join in community volunteer events, and provide a constant group of people to help out at soup kitchens, and other charity driven groups. My wife is mormon and she is one of the grandest, nicest, sweetest, God fearing, Christ loving person I know. I may never join but I know many of the things people perceive or think they know is blatantly false or have meaning to those who are practicing mormons, and understand it could be odd to those who aren't.

Damn, sorry that is long but I get tired of the same old BS I see against mormons, and it is by many who have spent little time with any or just plain ignorance. Some of the best people I have been around in my life. That is all.

I believe that God has a plan for all of us
I believe that plan involves me getting my own planet
And I believe that the current President of the Church, Thomas Monson, speaks directly to God
I am a Mormon!
And, dang it, a Mormon just believes!

I believe that Satan has a hold of you
I believe that the Lord God has sent me here!
And I believe that in 1978 God changed his mind about black people! (Black people!)
You can be a Mormon!
A Mormon who just believes

A Latter Day Re-Gift (6:24)
Why are Islam and Mormonism so similar? Because the devil forgot to check Google Calendar for birthdays, apparently.
