So when it floods for real everything down there is totally fricked and there's nothing we can do about it.
Well, I guess we could always just blow the levees up again. It probably won't help, but it'll be fun and spectacular. I mean, they used something like 30 tons of dynamite when they blew the hole open at Caernarvon.

Are you bringing this up because the river is silting and higher gauges aren’t corresponding to higher flows? Could that be the deterioration of the channel they’re talking about?

What’s the latest flood update saying? Puglias, Chags, and Alaric Bros have a three for one sale on life jackets going on but it only lasts ten to fifteen more minutes.

Either that or they have the classic southern attitude that they would rather see something destroyed just to prove that they were right than admit that they were wrong.
Or they were downvoting your hubris. Suggesting the river will never change course is almost certainly incorrect.

Let’s see if these pics work... I took these today. It was “repaired” yesterday but needs more. I bet it’s washed out all the way down to the toe.

Plaquemine point close to ferry.

I assume the west side if it’s Plaquemine Point.

Whatever side it’s on if it breaks I’m demanding answers from the ACoE.

East Side. I spoke with Pontchartrain levee maintenance supervisor this morning. He said they are watching it and didn’t seem very concerned.

A. He lives on the West side.
B. Why be concerned? If it breaks, what can he do about it?

So I expect that they're sending divers down each day to check and make sure it's not being eroded away at the bottom more than the top appears. I trust they're doing that each and every day at this point and every other point of erosion on the levees.

With sandbags. Because everyone in the entire BR area knows how well sandbags work at shoring things up and preventing water from getting through.
