I can’t imagine living in that building above HEB. I dk how I wouldn’t eat HEB chicken tenders every day if I could ride an elevator down to buy them

The new heights one on N Shepherd doesn't have anything above it, I went a week ago. Do you mean the Washington Ave one?

That area is great. Enough things to do at night and pretty quiet otherwise. I could walk to the German beer garden, Rainbow Lodge, and that Mexican place I can’t think of on Ella with the strong margs. Was also super close to Eureka, McIntyres, Cedar Creek, etc

Brought a few Hinge dates there

There seem to be lots of plans for Third Ward/UH area up to Midtown but I’ll believe it when I see it. Third Ward is Third Ward and the homeless population in Midtown by downtown/bus station is absurd. It’s like Hamsterdam in The Wire
Rice’s new development at the sears on main will do a lot to further clean up the third ward.
There is really no reason for the downtown spur to UH to be as ghetto as it is. It’s prime location for people working in the medcenter or downtown.
We need a marginalized but middle class community like the Jews of olden days or gay people to fix it up before the poor artsy people come in, then later rich artsy people and finally yuppies.
Problem is no one blinks an eye to gay people moving in next door anymore. It’s why you won’t see a Montrose like gentrification again.

That's not the 3rd ward.

What downtown spur? Spur 527 goes to midtown. Spur 5? That's basically an extra lane of I45 except for the last half mile which dumps you off on campus.
