Vasectomy threads are always comedic… lot of shaming too, and so be it

But you came asking for real answers. There was at least one other quality response up above…

Here’s the deal… listen carefully… you want this to go as smoothly and as painlessly as possible. I don’t know what you do for a job, but you’re going to want to minimize your activities as much as possible for minimum 7 days. 10-14 days would be even more ideal. No strenuous activity that first week. Don’t run… don’t jog… don’t lift weights. Keep your jockstrap on with thick padded gauze. Sit back or lie back with your feet up for as much as possible during that first week. Don’t risk it. The ice packs/frozen peas are good and comforting for the first 3-4 days.

I also had a friend with a horror story. He was feeling no pain and had no issues, so he decided it was safe to start jogging again on day 5 (or so he claims). He developed a massive grapefruit size hematoma. Don’t be a hero. Don’t let that happen to you.

Once the procedure is over, you should feel no true pain. The skin stitch site will however be very sensitive. So that’ll serve as a friendly reminder not to overdo it.

frick everyone else in this thread
… Take my advice. Take it easy the first 7-10 days. Don’t risk it. Recovery is quick, but don’t try to jump the gun. And do make sure you follow up 4-6 weeks down the line to make sure your samples are clean.

Good luck. Be well…

The numerous online support communities for “Post Vasectomy Pain Syndrome” effectively scared me off.

Whitey righties bruh. Boxer brief and compression shorts are great but they don’t hold your boys up. The important part of that is because the incisions are on sides of your bean bag and when that bumps your inner thigh, you are gonna fold and want to throw up

Yup. I just can’t bring myself to go through with it. Everytime I research it I find an almost equal positive and negative list. The risks seem to far outweigh the benefits. I’ve had two consults with doctors. Both told me that my equipment is built so well they recommend I go under instead of a local anesthetic because it’s going to be painful and so will the recovery. I had random pains for two weeks after they yanked on my nuts in the consultation.

It seems a slap in God’s face to tamper with that. Also, what if the apocalypse happens and I need more farm hands?

I also can’t get past the psychological reality of shooting blanks. There’s no way that doesn’t change you. Your brain would know you’re unable to fulfill your most natural and innate biological desire. That has to change something in you.

I’m going to stick with condoms and the occasional cycle safe pullout game. If the Lord throws a curve ball into one of those nights so be it.

Someone jamming a knife and tweezers into my scrotum and then cutting into my ballsack and slicing apart tubes is just about the most unnatural thing I can imagine doing to myself

Currently in recovery, and it’s not been a great experience so far.

Followed doctors orders to the letter, sat in bed for the first 2-3 days with minimal walking. No strenuous activity. Iced every hour, and took it easy.

My balls were the size of a softball and it felt like my sack was going to burst open.

I’m almost at the 2 week mark and one has shrunk to normal, and one is still the size of a tennis ball. Scheduling another follow up appointment this week.

My biggest fear right now is sitting on my balls.

I was running within 3 days. It was easy and mostly painless

Didn’t need any pain killers and only used a local during the procedure

I guess experience varies man to man, but it really was super easy for me

Ask for a hand and a finger, might as well get your prostate checked while you're in the stirrups.

Not even close, the vocal minority are always louder.

WTF does this even mean? Are you suggesting your nuts are just built Ford tough, or you've just got tough arse sack skin?

Yeah they do not yank on your nuts during the consultation, for that matter they don't even check your nuts. Anatomy of a man down there is all the same, which I think you're trying to suggest you're just well endowed and have no idea what you're talking about. Procedure is the exact same for damn near every dude on the planet.

Use multiple, you shouldn't procreate.

They don’t yank but my doctor definitely fondled my nuts at the consultation to make sure the vas was present where it should be on both sides.

I had a very attractive nurse during the actual procedure. It was like that stereotypical nightmare scenario every man fears

Well boys, it’s finally that time. I’m 37 and have two kids and I will be getting neutered this week. What can I realistically expect? Obviously some soreness and maybe some swelling but how long can I expect to be laid up? How bad is the pain? Looking forward to finally taking full advantage of my built-in super soaker with no repercussions on all your moms soon.

2-3 days of being semi laid up. can still move around and do stuff, just take it easy

5-7 days of some pain and soreness

couple months before you can lift anything health

since you are getting it later this week, milk that shite through sunday and enjoy the hell out of the nfl games

You can actually order a home test from Amazon too. It’s pretty much the same thing they’re using anyway.

I had it done at 1:00 on a Thursday and went to work (desk job)the next day. Never took so much as a Tylenol. I can't say it was painless but it really wasn't that big of a deal. I did take it easy for a few days. It was worth having sex without a condom though.

I did it cause i never wanted spoiled kids, best decision ever...

I was sore for a good week. And my experience it hurt because i took the valium ahead of time like they said but they ran late so the damn meds wore off by the time they started.

Never do this. Just pull out each time. That way, your wife always knows you have the possibility to leave and start a new family with other women (not that you would, necessarily). Maintain some control over your relationship. Otherwise, she's got you by the balls, literally

Who wants to leave at 40 and start a new family? If she’s stupid enough to believe that, you probably shouldn’t be procreating with her in the first place.
