Fishing and hunting are on par with south la being more expensive for good hunting land Not near Baton Rouge

This dude honestly thinks BR area offers better outdoors than Monroe. Monroe might blow in many categories but not outdoors.

You have the spillway 20 Mins outside, tons of good duck hunting right there also. Tons of lakes around the area. You only an hour and a half away from brackish water and the best fishing in the state.
I have caught a many of croppie on D’arrbone and have family hunting land in north la, but meh on one being significantly better than the other.

There’s good duck hunting near Monroe and tons of lakes as well.

Didn’t intend to start a thread war.

I really appreciate all the responses.

Grew up in Monroe, Neville and NLU. Left in 94 haven't looked back.If you want somewhere to live dirt cheap , conservative and enjoy hunting , fishing and getting drunk- Monroe hits the spot.

I was born and raised on Darbonne, interestingly enough, I’ve never caught the wily, elusive Croppie..

I have grown kids in central Mississippi. I don’t want to move too far away.

My better half is from Louisiana, I’m from Natchez. I’d be open to other locations, such as Gulf Coast or Northshore(have lived there before Katrina)but that’s not an option at this time. And I really want to GTFO of Jackson, MS.

20 years ago BR would have been a no brainer, but the quiet life appeals to me more now.

Baton Rouge is not an immediate move. Monroe needs me next month.

I may take Monroe on the contingency that when BR come available, I’m there. If I hate Monroe, that is.

Why not just move to Hattiesburg, Natchez, Tupelo?

Imma make this real simple for you.

If you drink before 12:00 AM, move to Baton Rouge.

If not, move to Monroe.

Like an earlier poster almost said, people in Baton Rouge stay hammered to tolerate the shi**y living conditions, whereas Monroe folks have just come to terms with their surroundings and are at peace with them.
