Just seems a little narcissistic to me, but to each his own.

All the men I know who have them are incredibly successful so I hope to wear dress shirts with a monogram one day.

It can be tacky. Personally, I find the cuff to be tacky. I would personally get a monogram on the left chest side but near the belt/pant line and in a same color as on the shirt.

People that look tacky, like the aforementioned Pat Reilly look, tend to have them on the cuff. Along with big cuff links, a tie bar and chain, and a tacky watch.

If you like it, who cares? I just don't understand the point of it.

I have a shirt with initials on the cuff that my wife bought me. Not terribly noticeable.

It's just one of many options you can add to your clothes to customize them. Not a big deal, IMO.

To clarify, I think it is a nice look that can be tacky. Making it tacky is usually accomplished by over-accessorizing your outfit with other items to try to look successful or fashionable.

Also, I already wear my name on a patch everyday. IDGAF if anyone cares are looks down on me for having a job that makes me wear a work shirt. I know my education and I know my pay grade so I can care less what my clothes says. I just also happen to like dressing nice when the situation calls for it. Not trying to sound pissy, just don't truly care one way or the other. Was truly curious what other people thought. I'll always do what I want.

My uncle always used to have it on his dress shirts, I remember it even from when I was little. He passed away 3 years ago. I just ordered a couple with my initials on the pocket as a way to pay homage to him. Not something I would expect other people to understand, but I'll always remember him when I put them on, or smell polo green.

I wouldn't do it. Monogram your initials it's kinda psychotic. Monogram some wild inside joke with your boys or clique at work or something that means something really dirty and taboo, then that'd be acceptable.

The only thing not trashy according to OT standards, is Amazon Prime. Sorry, just the fact that you're breathing right now, is considered trashy. Monogrammed dress shirts? You might as well move in a van down by the river, you piece of trash.

Every single one of my dress shirts follows this template

First initial. second initial. Full last name. Quarter inch off the end of the cuff. Looks great when wearing a jacket because the monogram still shows.

Women flock to that shite btw.

Same here. I've got a couple of custom shirts with my initials on the cuff, but I'm definitely not on those guy's levels.

I don't get the concept of this being a tacky thing to do.

I can possibly see it being a pretentious thing to do, but that has more to do with he person wearing the shirt than it does the actual monogramming of the shirt IMO.

Other than that, who gives a shite about this?

Guys in monogrammed shirts are attractive. That attention to detail gets my juices flowing.

Well when I go to swinger clubs, I would like to have my shirt back at the end of the night.
