Absolutely retarded and a waste of time and resources (unless there is more to the story not being reported here).

We have families that have super-young kids who are left alone without anyone watching them where mom and dad don't even work (out there doing nothing good) and they aren't charged with anything. Why should this lady be charged? Very selective charge there.

Also, a child could slip outside for a few minutes on almost anyone when you have that many kids. And a 14-year-old is old enough to watch siblings. She just made a mistake (door should have been deadbolted with no key in sight to open it if she was that preoccupied).

I guess she'd be a much better mother is she just stayed home and mooched off the government for food stamps and medicaid instead of working. This country is so arse backwards. Woman could take the easy way out and make excuses to get a handout yet she is punished for trying to provide for her family.

I have a co-worker whose 13 year old is home schooling all 5 siblings including 2 special needs ones. That’s insane. This isn’t.

What exactly is she being charged with here? 14 years old is more than old enough to babysit siblings

My older sister had all the babsitting working she wanted at age 14 in the 70s. Rich folks, too.

Meanwhile, everything you love about New Orleans carjacks someone and gets released from jail the next day.

What the frick?

What a criminal huh? Glad they got this one off the street.

Man I remember.. I guess 2nd, 3rd grade.. If my mom had to go somewhere for the whole day during the summer there was this 7th grader that everyone thought was hot, that she would get to come over.

This is another one of those "damn, things have changed since I was young" situations..

More on the attorney- David Delugas:

He's working the case for free, and he founded this organization Parents USA

ParentsUSATM’s core objective is to preserve and support the parent-child relationship. By advocating for the rights of parents as protected by the U.S. Supreme Court, ParentsUSATM works to support parents’ rights to raise their children as they see fit, so long as they are not harmed. Through strategic litigation, education, and lobbying, we will reshape public policy to be in alignment with your rights as a parent.

That kid's mother is a shite bag. It wasn't like the kid was playing around in the street with a pair of scissors.

And the police is a bitch for writing that up. Go assess the situation.. Talk to the sister responsible for them and tell her she needs to pay more attention because something could have happened to him. The 14 year old would probably not want her momma to know the police came by so she will make sure the kid don't get out again.. But isn't that normal? If kids see their friends outside, if they are not punished or anything they go out and play with them?

And, for real, not guilty. 14 is fine to babysit siblings.

Not for 4 kids while trying to attend virtual school

Look at this picture. It's not like she was watching 4 toddlers. Only 2 of the kids probably needed constant supervision. Such BS.

So you admit two need constant supervision. I’m assuming all three of the older ones were in virtual school, meaning none could provide constant supervision.

But seriously F the mom that called the cops as opposed to calling the mom and trying to work something out.

But she wasn’t babysitting. She was attending school. There’s a big fricking difference from being hired to babysit to being asked to babysit while supposedly attending 4-8 hours of class.

Why didn’t she call the mom?

Oh well, I should be in prison too. My son watched his siblings every summer starting at 14.

WTH?
