Very prevalent in low income areas tbh.

We were dirt floor poor growing up and we knew how to swim.

You'd think that 1 drowning would get her attention. She stuck to the phone until 3 were under?

Must have been on a badass reinstatement thread on td.

Moron. People here are disturbed by the kids drowning. The discussion is how it could possibly happen to such old children with their mother present

You should ride your high horse over to the community pool and teach people how to swim.

What in the hell does that have to do with me admonishing people for choosing to poke fun at the name of a dead child and how it relates to stereotypes because he drowned? There's no high horse nature about it.

Dollars to donuts she sues the complex.

If the pool water was so cloudy that people couldn't see the where the kids were straight away she damn well should.

The pool should be shut down as well.

Prevalent = widespread; of wide extent or occurrence; in general use or acceptance.

So, you learned to swim, the point stands that a lot of low income individuals don't learn to swim as children.

This is on sale at Walmart for less than a flat screen TV. Don't give me that rich, white, country club bullshite. Pools are easily available to all classes. Nobody wants to teach their kids anything useful and it cost these kids their lives.

If the parents cant swim, they're not going to bring the kids swimming at the Y. I don't know about rich white man's game or whatever and Im not making a statement about race. Poor families have a higher rate of not knowing how to swim.

My dad is almost 60 and grew up poor and still can't swim. All of his children were taught at a young age how to swim.

I don't buy it.

Yea, b/c people who can barely make ends meet or are on welfare should be running out to waste money on a fricking above ground pool. Are you for real?

i get it. the mom is too fricking lazy to take the kids outside to the park so they learn and expect nothing.

after all its hot outside in the summer right? poor people shouldn't be criticized because they can't get around as well as rich people and take their kids places.

so class-ist of you.

but that iPHONE she was using...wonder how many paid apps she has on it?

Im not selling anything. Im giving you statistics. Go read about it if you want. A higher % of poor kids cant swim compared to wealthier kids.

I'm not buying that it directly corresponds to wealth. I do think it directly corresponds to parenting. In there somewhere is a correlation to means, I guess, but it's 100% parenting.
