There's more folks up north that feel and think the same way we do than you would believe. Factor in the military and it would be over faster than you could imagine.
I lived in maine for two years and outside of a bunch of ugly-arse women that love the Muslim every guy I met was very conservative and most didn't like blacks, even though less than one percent of the population is minority. Echo the same for Connecticut, new Hsmpshire, Massachusetts, Vermont and New York.

Yep. Spent some time working/training at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, Maine. Those are some hard-working, tough, gun-loving, uber-conservative types (although generally they are not in the least bit religious). During lunch breaks, if they didn't go to the shipyard bar for beers and steak sandwiches, they would huddle around a computer looking at different AR-15 designs/configurations.

I'm going hard like Sherman up north. I would destroy and burn cities in my path

The Feds would side with the North. They would be chomping at the bit to eliminate as many of the gun toting Southern yahoos arse possible. This would be their golden opportunity to waste the yokels.

Melt Year 161.
The South lost, get over it.

If you destroyed Detroit you'd do millions of dollars worth of improvements.

It's all rednecks. Way more than can be counted.

i imagine that most of the non-urban areas in the northeast would side with the south. Totally different culture in rural NY as opposed to NYC same with rural Mass and Boston. And the only reason why states like VT, NH and ME are liberal is because of Masshole and NYC transplants who ruined those states, they used to be reliably conservative in the past.

Wrong. There are no nukes at Nellis
Did they shut down the stockpile there?

True

there are boomer subs in Bangor, ME.
Nope. Pacific boomers used to be at Naval Submarine Base Bangor in Washington. They're still there, but the base just merged with another and is called Kitsap. Still in Washington.

no nukes at Barksdale either.
I thought they'd upgraded the base and could safely store the nukes on site and not have to fly somewhere else to arm the planes. That's pretty recent, though, so it's entirely possible it didn't happen yet or got axed.

Southern states are poor as frick. What makes you think we could wage a successful war?
MS, AL, LA, AR, etc.

For about two seconds. And then the hammer would drop on the hillbillies and rednecks.

Not sure when there would have been an active stockpile of nukes at Nellis. Tests of B-61s have been run out of there for years, but those warheads don't have the true physics package of a nuke.

Nope.
My bad...I just know that the sub base up in Maine is one of the stops possible when the Russians come on an inspection visit under the provisions of the START (and now New START).

Not yet. It is one of many Weapon Storage Facilities on the list to get funding for upgrades. Until those upgrades happen, they won't be stored here.

As for the rest of the South: well, most folks up north think the South is a poverty-stricken, backwards land of red necks and fundamentalist crazies of various persuasions.
Yes I'm sure they think that as they drive their packed uhauls down I 75/ I 95 south.

Why would you leave the west out? Anyway, the north would win because it has more money and a better handle on technology. They're more innovative as well. They would infiltrate and or shut down all of our communications and tech. I'm not sure any nuclear physicists would stick around the South if such a thing happened.

Why does anybody think that the southern states would team up?
Texas and Florida have nothing in common except for latin influence.
Maybe Alabama and Mississippi will team up.
Maybe Tennessee and Arkansas would team up.
I would hope Louisiana would decline.

if you take out the actual armed trained military then its pretty easy southern victory. If you split the military down state lines i still think the south stomps this time.
Posted on 1/24/16 at 12:05 am to TulaneUVA
The south definitely. But with all the sissy butthurt bitches running around these days, Obama could declare death to white people and nothing would be done
