When you say armed trained military I'm assuming you mean our current armed forces. You wouldn't have to hypothetically remove them. A large majority would leave to fight for their states. I don't know the specifics, but I'd say upwards of 65% are from the south. Small sample size, but my unit unilaterally agreed we would fight for the south if that scenario ever happened.

Another factor is the minorities. I can't think of any black who would logically fight for the South. It doesn't help that the north doesn't sympathize with blacks either. Would equal rights still be kept. A civil war of this scale would completely ostracize blacks unless either side has aplan of emancipation.

Naval bases in Virginia and the rest of the south
Most army bases are located in the south or west.
South controls majority of agriculture
Largest ports for imports in the south
Militias are mostly in the south
Now if Mexico got involved and the south had to fight them from the south, union from the north, and whatever other country (China-Russia) that invaded from the west then the south would lose.
